Second wine of Brane-Cantenac, Baron de Brane demonstrates even more than his older brother the progress made in this château over the past 15 years. Silky as ever, deliciously crunchy and juicy on the finish, Baron de Brane is now more than just a second wine, a brand in its own right!
Dupont (Le Point) : 15/20 « Fruits noirs, boisé, bouche savoureuse, chocolat et fruits noirs, tanins denses du merlot, épicé en finale, bonne structure. »
Martin (Vinous) : 85-87/100 « The 2018 Baron de Brane offers ripe red currant and cranberry fruit and hints of cedar and black pepper on a nose that is fuller and more generous than recent vintages. The medium-bodied palate displays fine-grained tannins. This is lighter than expected, but well balanced, with a pure, almost Burgundian finish. Fine, though I do not see it as a long-term Deuxième Vin. »
