Even if they have exceptional ageing potential, we recommend tasting Sauternes from their earliest youth.
They do not have tannic astringency and their aromatic complexity is therefore fabulous!

"Save water, drink wine !"

"Champagne! Because no great story started over a bowl of salad."

"I just saved some wine. It was caught in a bottle."

"To know the origin and quality of a wine, there's no need to drink the whole barrel." Oscar Wilde (Moderation Advice)

"Good wine is too expensive and bad wine is too bad." Jack Rollan

"A glass of wine is good for your health. The rest of the bottle is good for mental health!"

Catalog Spring-Summer
2020

This section includes all the novelties that were not present in our previous catalogue.

It groups together the châteaux and domaines that are making their entry (or their return!) into our selections, but also the new cuvées from producers that we were already following closely.

In any case, these wines are as deserving of your attention as they have been of ours, and we guarantee that they will be in our selections for a long time to come.

Xavier Copel (the oenologist behind Primo Palatum, whose discontinuation we regretted in 2007) took advantage of the greatness of the 2016 vintage to return under his own name with a new range of 6 red wines, from Bordeaux to Spain. And always with the same specifications: to produce wines that are fine, precise, complex and above all representative of their terroir. To achieve this, it relies on a long-term partnership with only one winegrower per appellation (such as Château Le Cèdre in Cahors).

Xavier Copel has already made his name in the Bettane&Desseauve guide "Careful, elegant, charming wines, whose only defect is the small quantity produced" [only 1200 to 1800 bottles per vintage].

30-year-old vines, 95% Merlot, on the Figeac plateau at Cheval-Blanc Ouest.

It is in Bouzeron (the first village in the south of the Côte de Beaune) that Aubert de Villaine, emblematic co-owner and manager of La Romanée-Conti, lives and works as a winegrower in his estate acquired in 1971. Assisted since 2003 by his nephew Pierre de Benoist, he practices the same high-flying viticulture as at La Romanée-Conti, combining tradition, openness, purity, rigour and organic farming (since 1986). Thank you to Mr. de Villaine for defending with the same passion the elite Burgundy and the artisan Burgundy. Domain rated one star in the 2020 Revue du Vin de France guide.

Since 1993, this estate has been in the very spirit of the Beaujolais with easy-drinking, richly fruity wines with silky, coated textures, matured without (or practically without) sulphur. We only offer the estate's Vieilles Vignes cuvées, wines of great drinkability, natural and alluring in their youth even if they age perfectly. Rated two stars in the guide 2020 Revue du Vin de France.

Outside the winemaking world, Alexandra de Vazeilles became passionate about the Domaine des Bachelards, which she bought in 2012. Formidably surrounded (Claude and Lydia Bourguignon for agronomy, Stéphane Derenoncourt for vinification, Bernard Burtschy for the style of the wines), she manages her 12 hectares with unshakeable convictions: high density plots (10,000 vines/ha), biodynamic management (the estate was already organic before her arrival), manual harvesting in small crates, no carbonic maceration, long maturing in barrels and tuns. Its wines are ample, deep, simultaneously mineral (granite) and velvety, and certainly built for a long and beautiful ageing. Wines with a strong personality, in the image of their owner. Rated one star in the guide 2020 Revue du Vin de France.
