The star of Graves blancs, offering each vintage a very pure and straightforward wine, discreetly woody. It is not surprising to see this regularity in performance, as it is the own property of the late Denis Dubourdieu. Favourite Hachette in 2014.

Revue du Vin de France :
    Bettane & Desseauve :
Quarin : 90/100 « Délicat en entrée de bouche, soyeux au toucher, le vin fond tout le long du palais, gourmand, allongé, subtil dans ses saveurs et ses parfums. C'est très bon. »
Galloni (Vinous) : 90-91/100 « This nuanced, layered dry white from the Dubourdieu family is impossible to resist. »
    Martin (Vinous) : 90-92/100 « Just a delicious dry white Bordeaux. »

Family property of the Dubourdieu family. Always very bouquety and expressive, round with buttered notes, perfect to accompany a cheese platter.

Revue du Vin de France :
    Bettane & Desseauve :
    Galloni (Vinous) :
Martin (Vinous) : 91-93/100 « The well-balanced palate offers tangy orange peel mixed with grapefruit, a superb line of acidity and a penetrating, persistent finish. »

Based on Sauvignon (with a hint of Semillon), Caillou Blanc has been presented for 50 years as the archetype of Médoc dry white wine: pale colour, between delicate freshness and aromatic distinction (citrus fruits, bitter orange, honeysuckle), never too full or demonstrative. The white wine of Smith Haut Lafitte has built up a solid reputation over the last 10 years, even if it is not a grand cru classé (but Haut-Brion blanc and Pape-Clément blanc are not either). A happy marriage of wood and fruit, it always delivers a beautiful aromatic complexity, from lime blossom to citrus, and a lively, rich and fine structure.

Galloni (Vinous) : 96-98/100 « The 2021 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is one of the great white wines of the vintage. Soaring in its aromatic intensity and sheer volume, the 2021 saturates every corner of the palate with its unctuousness and richness. »

Clos Haut-Peyraguey is a division of the Peyraguey cru and inherited the richest part of the famous Haut-Bommes terroir, which explains the amplitude and unctuousness of its wines. It owes its tonicity to its aromas of bitter orange peel and to the happy acidity that underpins it.

Formerly owned by Mrs. Langlois-Pauly, who had put her heart and soul into it, the cru was bought in 2012 by Mr. Magrez.

Doisy-Daëne is never the sweetest wine in its sector, but it always has an expression and an aromatic refinement without equal. A pure Barsac, brilliantly orchestrated by Denis Dubourdieu until 2016.

The 2014 vintage is rated 17-18/20 by the Revue du Vin de France "with pure fruit, generous liquor, it is balanced by the finesse, the minerality of the soil", 18/20 for the 2015 vintage "wine all in suavity and roundness" and 2016 "sparkling and crystalline fruit, pure character that signs the terroir of Barsac".

Revue du Vin de France :
    Bettane & Desseauve :
Quarin : 93/100 « Minutieux en entrée de bouche, particulièrement savoureux au milieu, délicatement fondant et très fruité, le vin évolue juteux et plus épicé que d'habitude en finale. Très bonne longueur. »
Galloni (Vinous) : 95-97/100 « The 2021 is rich and unctuous, but not at all heavy. It is a fabulous example of both the château and vintage. »
Martin (Vinous) : 93-95/100 « Maybe not the most complex Doisy-Daëne in recent years, but taut and very focused on the finish. »

Administered by the Rothschilds (Mouton) since 1996, Coutet has joined the leading pack of the biggest Sauternes after Yquem. Like Climens, it is a true Barsac, pure and remarkably subtle, but with a more marked liquor. Since 2005, Coutet has been in great shape!

Rated 19.5/20 by the Revue du Vin de France in 2016, 19/20 in 2017 and 97-98/100 in 2019 "Lively, radiant and sapid, this graceful Barsac has a harmonious, elegant liquor with a beautiful burst of fruit. A fine benchmark".
