Second wine of Grand-Puy Lacoste. Fruity, tender, silky, and always elegant. A classic.
Grand-Puy-Lacoste has been known since 1979 as the archetypal great wine of Pauillac. Its owner, François-Xavier Borie, wanted his second wine, Lacoste-Borie, not to be a simple Bordeaux that is quickly accessible, but to be conceived and made like a true Pauillac: long on the palate, full-bodied, rich, capable of good ageing, and endowed with the blackcurrant, liquorice and cedar aromas that are characteristic of the appellation.
His 2015, with its classic, racy profile and the sunny side of the vintage, is a perfect illustration. It has now entered its peak (2020-2028), charming and flavoursome, all fruit on melted and slightly creamy tannins. A great success which proves that one can (still) find quality Pauillacs for less than €30.00 a bottle.

Rated 93/100 by Neal Martin « This is classic "GPL". The palate is very well balanced with brine-tinged black fruit and a fine bead of acidity. It is beautifully focused with a refined, lightly spiced finish. You have to give this wine time in the glass because it really starts to "flow" after 5-10 minutes. Excellent. » (Feb. 2020)
» (Oct. 2020)
