5 PREMIERS CRUS CLASSÉS de SAUTERNES Sauternes 2016 wooden case of 6 bottles 75cl

Under the direction of its owner Mr. Alfred Tesseron and its manager Mr. Jean-Michel Comme, Château Pontet-Canet has been since the early 2000s the great precursor of organic and biodynamic viticulture within the Médoc's crus classés.

To celebrate the successful achievement of their goal, the first 6 vintages certified organic from 2008 to 2013, were gathered in a special case (with screw cap) containing one bottle of each year.

For the record, Robert PARKER rated 100/100 the two vintages 2009 "a wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking" and 2010 "it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this wine".

Contiguous to Mouton-Rothschild, Pontet-Canet is in good vintages the very type of great Pauillac, straight and racy. The first of the Grands Crus Classés to be certified "organic" (in 2010), Pontet-Canet has been at the top of the Médoc since 2000.

The 2016 after bottling has obtained the perfect score 20/20 for the Revue du Vin de France "If the 2015 is huge, the 2016 seems capable of going even further. An energetic and interminable wine". While the 2017, following in the footsteps of 2016, was rated 19/20 "The vintage still signs a wine of truly remarkable intensity".

Rated 93/100 by Neal Martin « The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that render this one of the more approachable vintages in recent years. The cedar-infused black fruit is framed by fine tannins and a harmonious, graphite tinged finish. This Pontet-Canet should offer up to 20 years of drinking pleasure although it will be difficult to resist pulling the cork in its youth. » (February 2020)

Rated 95/100 by Antonio Galloni « A gorgeous, alluring Pauillac, the 2017 Pontet-Canet is racy and exceptionally polished, with floral top notes that bring out the natural brightness of the red-toned fruit. Super-silky tannins add to the wine's immediacy and sheer allure. » (March 2020)

» (Oct. 2020)

Already in organic cultivation since 2005, the 2008 vintage marks the return of Pontet-Canet to biodynamic conversion after a trying 2007 vintage (mildew).

After 12 years of ageing in the chateau's cellars, Pontet-Canet has just put a small batch of this 2008 vintage back on sale, specially housed in 3-bottle sliding crates.

"A candidate for the title of "wine of the vintage", Pontet Canet 2008 is full-bodied, with a fabulous richness, texture and extraordinary freshness, worthy of a Premier Grand Cru Classé. Bravo!" Rated 96/100.
Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate) - February 2011

"Pontet-Canet 2008 confirms its immense potential and achieves excellence. Winey, blood, with a dazzling fruit and unequalled length, a revelation". Rated 19.5/20.
Guide 2013 of La Revue du Vin de France

"Pontet-Canet 2008 combines volume, charm and depth, it starts to deliver and above all preserves an exemplary fruit freshness. Refined, it stretches for a long time in the mouth." Rated 17.5/20.
