Château des BACHELARDS Saint-Amour red 2016 bottle 75cl

bottle 75cl: 20,83 €bottle 75cl

Outside the winemaking world, Alexandra de Vazeilles became passionate about the Domaine des Bachelards, which she bought in 2012. Formidably surrounded (Claude and Lydia Bourguignon for agronomy, Stéphane Derenoncourt for vinification, Bernard Burtschy for the style of the wines), she manages her 12 hectares with unshakeable convictions: high density plots (10,000 vines/ha), biodynamic management (the estate was already organic before her arrival), manual harvesting in small crates, no carbonic maceration, long maturing in barrels and tuns. Its wines are ample, deep, simultaneously mineral (granite) and velvety, and certainly built for a long and beautiful ageing. Wines with a strong personality, in the image of their owner.

Rated one star in La Revue du Vin de France guide.

Occupying 2 ha at mid-slope, Saint-Amour is a rich and fully fruity wine due to its southern exposure.

Fleurie is the reference cuvée, 6 ha in one piece, vines aged from 40 to 100 years on pink granite, the most delicate and subtle wines of the estate.

Its Moulin-à-Vent is fresh, complex and the finest of the range, made from 1.25 ha of black granite and schist.
