Under the direction of Henri Lurton, Brane-Cantenac has gained in recent years in fullness and density and has become one of the leading growths of the appellation along with Palmer and Rauzan-Ségla and even the most authentically Margalese of them all. Let there be no mistake, behind a typically Margalaise elegance and delicacy that encourages tasting it too young, Brane-Cantenac needs time to blossom and reveal itself.

Rated 96/100 by the Revue du Vin de France « Il se révèle envoutant et complexe, très soyeux mais intense en bouche » (Sept. 2021)

» (Avr. 2020)

The 2021 vintage is rated 90/100 by Jean-Marc Quarin "Deep, dark purple colour. Very aromatic nose, with pure fruit and a fresh but not lively presence. Meticulous on the attack, very tasty in the middle, slender without being nervous, this wine melts on the palate, juicy, noble, fine and without any tannic angle". (April 2022)

The 2014 vintage is rated 94/100 by N.Martin "The 2014 Brane-Cantenac has a clean, opulent bouquet of bright black fruits, with hints of meat juice, mint and potpourri. This is one of the most complex aromas in the Margaux cuvée. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, slightly spicy with a hint of black pepper. It develops on the palate, leading to a structured and impressive finish. This wine should age well in bottle, it's splendid and one of the best values of this vintage ". (February 2024)
