Always black with ink, always deliciously fat and sweet, always St-Julien and above all always regular. Supervised by Mr. Derenoncourt since 2009, Talbot has gained in intensity and aromatic precision.
The 2020 vintage is coup de ♥ in the Guide Hachette 2024 "a great Talbot, with high precision and crazy energy. Irresistible, and for a long time"
The 2020 vintage is rated 95/100 by La Revue du Vin de France "The wine is still very seductive, with precise contours and a fresh fruity side that explodes. The palate is energetic, but also deep and probing. A very fine bottle to cellar for the next decade." (December 2022)
Rated 93/100 by N. Martin "The 2020 Talbot contains the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon to date (76%). It has developed a wonderful, classic-style nose of black fruits with mint and graphite. The palate is very well balanced and, again, classic in style, with a touch of wild mint that evokes Pauillac rather than Saint-Julien. The mid-palate shows the weight that was lacking in the vintages of the nineties. Lots of freshness on the finish - this is an impressive Talbot". (December 2022)
Based on Sauvignon (with a hint of Semillon), Caillou Blanc has been presented for 50 years as the archetype of Médoc dry white wine: pale colour, between delicate freshness and aromatic distinction (citrus fruits, bitter orange, honeysuckle), never too full or demonstrative. And always reasonably positioned in terms of price.
