In 2004, Jean-Michel Chartron gave a new impulse to the family estate, with the chance to have an extraordinary land heritage (the Clos des Chevaliers is the best part of the Chevalier-Montrachet, itself considered as the best climate of Puligny after the Montrachet). Mineral, nervous, powerful and long, his wines are among the greatest of Puligny. Rated one star in the Revue du Vin de France guide.
The "Trilogie de Clos Centenaires" case celebrates the hundredth vintage vinified by the Chartron family on its three most beautiful parcels (Clos des Chevaliers, Clos de la Pucelle and Clos du Cailleret), bought in 1917 to enlarge the estate. Exceptionally, the grapes from the oldest vines of each Clos were vinified separately. After a year of maturing, the best barrel from each Clos was selected and bottled, to make up 100 cases (only) of 3 bottles each:
- 1 bottle of Chevalier-Montrachet grand cru "Clos des Chevaliers" 2017
- 1 bottle of Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Clos du Cailleret" 2017
- 1 bottle of Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Clos de la Pucelle" 2017
