Marchesi ANTINORI Solaia (Toscana) red 2011 bottle 75cl

bottle 75cl: 165,42 €bottle 75cl

Marchesi Antinori was, together with Sassicaia, a pioneer in the introduction of Bordeaux grape varieties in Tuscany. Since then, the 57 ha vineyard has remained unchanged, with 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Created in 1978, Solaia is a 20 ha vineyard, planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Franc. An extroverted wine, but in a happy medium between the breed of a great Pauillac and the exuberance of a Californian Cabernet, rated 96/100 by M. Galloni (Vinous) "this 2011 could easily be confused with a wine from the Napa Valley as its intensity is so great".
