Sophisticated white wine from Pape-Clement, with a balance of tone and concentration that is always perfectly defined. Its 2020, precise, intense, discreetly woody and less smoky than usual, will be among the greatest Bordeaux whites of the decade.
Quarin : 94/100 « Couleur jaune vert. Nez moyennement aromatique, au fruité mûr et complexe. Très jolie nuance de poire rôtie sur un fond de vanille. Délicat à l'attaque, moelleux en milieu de bouche, avec du goût et une touche truffée. Le vin évolue parfumé, avec beaucoup de classe dans le déroulé et s'achève incrachable. »

Dried flowers, mint, licorice, mocha, cedar and tobacco soar out of the glass. The purity of the flavors is simply mind-blowing. Martin : 93-95/100 « The 2023 Pape Clément is the first vintage fully employing crème de levures [...]. The 2023 is cut from a very different cloth compared to recent vintages. It's much more classic in style, almost reserved, with tightly wound black fruit mixed with briar and light gravelly scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a light entry, just a pinch of spice and moderate depth. [...] Very fine. I like this new direction. though I would not regard this as a benchmark for future vintages. This will be interesting to revisit after bottling. »
