A 6 ha property (92% Merlot) acquired in 2011 by Mr. Thienpont (Pavie-Macquin, Larcis-Ducasse...). After a break-in period, Alcée takes off in 2016, standing out from its neighbours by its emphasis on finesse, minerality and distinction. A wine with more length than breadth.
According to the Guide Bettane & Desseauve 2025, “Alcée has become the favourite vintage of wine lovers looking for excellent value among Bordeaux wines”.
Vinous (A. Galloni): 90-92/100 "The 2024 Alcée is terrific. Bright vibrant and punchy, the Alcée is strong in 2024. I have to say, this is a style I like a great deal. Aromatic and vibrant, the 2024 has so much to offer. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and spice open into a core of expressive red-toned fruit. This is a terrific Alcée."
Vinous (N. Martin) : 86-88/100 "The 2024 Alcée has a simple, slightly rustic bouquet that needs more fruit concentration. It's a little disjointed at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, mainly red fruit laced with cedar, but this lacks flair on the finish. Still, there is adequate freshness here."
La Revue du Vin de France : 89-90/100 « Sur ses argiles rouges, le vin prend une certaine puissance, affiche une structure ample, saillante. 93 % merlot et 7 % de cabernet franc. »
