Mr Rouzaud (Champagne Roederer) acquired it in 2007 and has since strengthened the technical team by adding the advice of Mr Boissenot. Pichon-Comtesse remains faithful to the style that has made it so successful, as dense, suave, charming, enchanting and above all endearing.
J-M Quarin : 98/100 “Extremely delicate on the palate, with a wonderfully graceful texture and a complex flavour blending black fruits and ink, the wine melts on the palate. It lingers on the finish, velvety, in a magnificent display, making it impossible to spit out. Highly indulgent, very much in the style of Pichon Comtesse.”
Bettane+Desseauve : 97/100 “Full of finesse and harmony, impressive for its length and natural balance. The wine achieves a remarkable synthesis between the refinement of great vintage wines of the past and the precision of more contemporary expressions.”
La Revue du Vin de France : 96-98/100 “One of the vintage’s finest achievements. Sensuality, legendary elegance and a radiant texture define this wine, which boasts a slender, refined and perfectly integrated structure. The body is sumptuous, the fruit vibrant, enhanced by particularly refined floral notes. The finish gracefully unfolds in successive waves of fruit.”
Vinous (A. Galloni) : 96-98/100 "The 2025 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a total stunner. A wine of depth and intensity, it soars out of the glass with layers of nuance and complexity. The 2025 has it all: aromatics, fruit density and structure to match. Pichon Comtesse is shaping up to be one of the wines of the vintage."
Vinous (N. Martin) : 95-97/100 "The 2025 Pichon-Longueville has a taut and linear nose, very classic in style, graphite/pencil lead scents that permeate the black fruit. Beautiful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. A little more structured and austere than the more Merlot-driven vintages of old. Yet as it unfurls in the glass, it reveals the level of sophistication and precision you now come to expect from this Pauillac Second Growth. At 13.1% alcohol, this is lower than other recent vintages."
Le Point : 19/20 Coup de ♥ “Black berries, blackberry, graphite, very smooth on the palate, blackcurrant, long finish. A sensation of freshness that makes the wine seem as though it were two degrees cooler. Remarkable.”
