Although produced in Lamarque in the heart of Haut-Médoc, this is the most original dry white wine in the Gironde, a blend of gros manseng (as in Jurançon), sauvignon gris (superior to the more common sauvignon blanc) and savagnin (as in Jura). All this gives a dry white wine with golden reflections, powerful, sapy, fruity, complex and elegant. A special wine!

The star of Graves blancs, offering each vintage a very pure and straightforward wine, discreetly woody. It is not surprising to see this regularity in performance, as it is the own property of  Florence & Denis Dubourdieu, hence the name of the wine.

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 90-92/100 « The 2025 Clos Floridene Blanc is terrific. Dried apricot, apple, chamomile, crushed flowers and a kiss of French ook oll meld together. Understated yet quite expressive, Clos Floridene Blanc is a total delight in 2025 »

    J-M Quarin : 90/100

Vinous (N. Martin) : 88-90/100 "The 2025 Clos Floridène Blanc has a pleasant orchard fruit, red apple and persimmon-scented nose that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate is well balanced with ample depth and, whilst it does not have the tension and drive of the previous vintage, there is decent length."

Vinous (N. The palate is well balanced, with fine acidity, lovely texture, the 30% Sémillon imparting weight and umami towards the peppery finish. Not immensely long, but this is very satisfying."

Bettane+Desseauve : 95/100 “The blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc produces a white Bordeaux of great purity. Vibrant and briny, the wine impresses with its sharpness and energy. A favourite.”

J-M Quarin : 92/100 “Delicate on the palate, subtle on the mid-palate, and full of flavour, the wine finishes light and fragrant. Good length.”

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 91-93/100 "The 2025 Virginie de Valandraud Blanc is ample, creamy and super expressive right out of the gate. Lemon confit, marzipan, white flowers and apricot fill out the layers. There's gorgeous textural depth and resonance here, a result of the warm, dry year and the heavy presence of Sémillon in the blend."

Vinous (N. Martin) : 90-92/100 "The 2025 Virginie de Valandraud Blanc is a blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, the inverse of last year, aged in 75% new oak and the newly introduced 25% in terracotta jars. It has a slightly reserved nose that opens with lime flower, chamomile and yellow flowers. It just needs a little coaxing. The palate is well balanced with fine balance, lovely texture thanks to the Semillon and a dab of ginger towards the finish. Very fine."

This classified growth, owned by INRA, has grown considerably since the Institute's researchers decided to apply the results of their most advanced research to it, and the arrival of Mr Derenoncourt as an advisor. In a rather lively and tense style, Couhins is today by its price the best deal among the white classified growths of Pessac-Léognan.

Bettane+Desseauve : 91-92/100 “With a focus on minerality and chalky notes, it reveals a ripe Sauvignon Blanc with smoky and apricot-like hints. The full-bodied and lingering palate achieves remarkable balance thanks to a lively and dynamic finish.”

La Revue du Vin de France : 90-91/100 “A delicate wine, this one emphasises freshness and a subtle floral character. On the palate, it is light and crisp, offering a sense of purity but lacking a little in length. Best enjoyed whilst young for its vibrancy and finesse.”

The Latour-Martillac white wine is aromatic, straightforward and has excellent ageing potential. It is one of the most consistent and interesting wines in the appellation, and holds up formidably well to ageing (10 years or more).

    See the data sheet

Bettane+Desseauve : 94-95/100 “Refined and complex, with notes of white fruit, hawthorn and minerality in an elegant expression. The full-bodied, lingering texture retains remarkable liveliness. Full of character.”

La Revue du Vin de France : 93-95/100 “Distinctive and perfectly defined, this wine brilliantly combines tension and fullness. The attack, lively and precise, opens onto a mid-palate with lovely volume and a luscious texture. The development on the palate is dynamic, gaining in intensity and depth. The whole, complete and structured, concludes with a vibrant, energetic and promising finish.

Vinous (N. Martin) : 93-95/100 "The 2025 Latour-Martillac Blanc plays with a light reduction on the nose, quite mineral, with touches of sea spray coming through with time. The palate is well balanced and cohesive, with fine acidity, one of the most complex whites from this Pessac-Léognan estate that I have encountered, and it lingers on the saline finish. Bravo."

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 85-87/100 "The 2025 Latour-Martillac Blanc shows good energy and drive, but falls short on the mid-palate, which accentuates the attenuated finish. It would be nice to see more mid-palate depth."

Very pale, crystalline colour, aromatic notes of lemon and grapefruit, lively and delicate on the palate, Carbonnieux is by its refined style the most Medoc style of Pessac-Léognan whites.

    See the technical sheet

La Revue du Vin de France : 93-94/100 “True to its style, with a focus on finesse thanks to a high proportion of Sémillon, this vintage produces a wine of great elegance. The aromatic profile, subtle and nuanced, is accompanied by a palate that is both precise and luminous. The balance is built on a lovely tension and delicately chiselled texture. The long, salty finish adds an extra dimension of freshness and distinction.

Bettane+Desseauve : 92-93/100 “With notes of boxwood, citrus, aniseed and vanilla, this white wine boasts an enticing aromatic profile, with a full-bodied, generous palate that retains its liveliness. The dynamic finish is true to the style of the vintage.”

Vinous (A. Galloni): 90-92/100 "The 2025 Carbonnieux Blanc is a brilliant, tense wine with good depth and plenty of drive. Green pear, lemon peel, tomato leaf, sage, mint and white pepper are very nicely fashioned in this tasty dry white."

J-M Quarin: 89/100 “Pale colour with green highlights. An intense, refined, fruity and pure nose. A hint of fresh almond. Delicate on the palate, very fruity in the mid-palate, slightly subdued towards the end, the wine regains its vigour with a lively, long finish. A rediscovered pleasure.”

Vinous (N. Martin): 88-90/100 "The 2025 Carbonnieux Blanc has a light, delicate nose, with pretty apple blossom and Anjou pear scents. Like recent vintages, it just needs more oomph (technical term, but you know what I mean)."

Since the 2023 vintage, Doisy-Daëne has been making a confidential cuvée (1,200 bottles) from its oldest Semillon vines, planted on the limestone plateau of Barsac. Entirely vinified in barrels, this 100% Semillon on limestone is an intense, straightforward wine, with intense aromas of vine peach and a lovely sapid freshness on the finish.

    See the data sheet

Bettane+Desseauve : 93/100 “More Barsac in character than Sauvignon, and just as flawless in its execution.”

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 91-93/100 « The 2025 Semillon sur Calcaire is a powerful, dense, textured white. Apricot, mint, white flowers and lemon oil unfurl in a wine that is viscous yet quite restrained. Readers will find a white of notable structure and depth, with tons of intensity and the personality to match. »

Vinous (N. Martin) : 90-92/100 "The 2025 Sémillon Sur Calcaire has a little more complexity on the nose, the limestone coming through nicely and simply offering something more memorable than some of its peers. The palate is well balanced, with bright acidity, neatly integrated oak, apricot and white peach notes that segue into a well-defined finish. This is a capable dry Sauternes that should be irresistible once in bottle."

Based on Sauvignon (with a hint of Semillon), Caillou Blanc has been presented for 50 years as the archetype of Médoc dry white wine: pale colour, between delicate freshness and aromatic distinction (lemon, bitter orange, honeysuckle), never too full or demonstrative. A model of elegance, never too lavish or ostentatious, and always reasonably priced.

    See the technical sheet

Vinous (N. Martin) : 90/100 "The 2025 Caillou Blanc Talbot is the first vintage that will be classed as a Médoc Blanc after the change in rules. It has an attractive, quite floral bouquet, white flowers, hints of apricot and custard creams. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, bright and lively, a little tang on the finish, but I like how the 88% Sauvignon imparts tension, and so this is a Caillou with less exoticism. Very fine."

Known for producing a full-bodied, expressive, even exuberant white wine, Larrivet Haut-Brion has gained freshness and tension in recent vintages, thanks to its new vat room incorporating smaller containers (including 20% concrete eggs). Its young director, Charlotte Mignon, has also undertaken a major agroforestry project in the vineyard to promote biodiversity and protect the vines from global warming.

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 92-94/100 "The 2025 Larrivet Haul-Brion Blanc is one of the most unique, extroverted whites in Bordeaux. Baked apple tart, candied ginger, pear and buttery Chassagne-like overtones blossom, conveying fons of nuance and character. This is impeccably done."

Bettane+Desseauve : 93/100 “With powerful fruity, floral, smoky and mineral notes, it retains its vigour despite a full-bodied and generous palate. A lovely lingering aroma with a lively finish.”

La Revue du Vin de France : 92-93/100 “A truly distinctive wine, this one captivates with its creamy texture combined with a lovely liveliness. The balance between richness and freshness is well-structured. The ageing, which is still noticeable, brings vanilla notes to the finish; these are slightly dominant at this stage but should mellow over time to allow the fruit to fully express itself.”

Vinous (N. Martin) : 89-91/100 "The 2025 Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc has a vibrant nose with citrus peel, lime and stony scents, well defined and with better vigour than I was expecting. The palate is well balanced with a peppery entry, fine acidity and texture. It just lacks a bit of complexity and grip on the finish; otherwise it will drink well for the next decade."

Alongside its famous Sauternes, Suduiraut has been producing a dry white wine for fine dining for 20 years, made from half Sémillon and half Sauvignon (average age of vines 45 years for both grape varieties), aged for 9 months in barrels (12% new). Renamed Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes from 2020 onwards, this cuvée achieves a near-perfect balance between refined fruit (fresh citrus), marked acidity and subtle bitterness on the finish.

    See the technical sheet

J-M Quarin: 97/100 “Pale colour. An intense, refined, fruity and subtle nose with hints of citrus. A wonderfully light palate combining deep flavours (mint and citrus) that develop into a noble texture, leading to an unforgettable finish. It’s superb!”

Vinous (A. Galloni): 94-96/100 “Like all the whites this year at Suduiraut, the 2025 Grand Vin Blanc Sec Vieilles Vignes has more Sémillon in the blend. It offers a striking mix of Sémillon richness and vibrant energy that is impossible to miss. I especially admire the wine's tension. Pear, dried lemon peel, chalk, mint and dried flowers build into the intense, saline-drenched finish. What a wine.”

Bettane+Desseauve : 94-95/100 « The palate is well balanced, with admirable purity, fine depth and attractive texture, with a touch of ginger towards the finish. This has obrightness and seriousness fo it that is very attractive »

With near-maniacal intransigence at every stage of its development, the Bonnie family delights us with each vintage with its white wine, very Sauvignon (80 to 90%), combining energy, supreme finesse and exemplary straightness.

    See the technical sheet

Bettane+Desseauve : 95/100 “This white Malartic displays remarkable aromatic precision, combining notes of ripe fruit, balsam, lilac, mimosa, honey and peppermint in a refined style. Generous and flavourful on the palate, it retains superb energy thanks to a distinct liveliness on the finish.”

J-M Quarin: 94/100 “Pale yellow color. Intense, refined, fruity nose. A hint of oak. Full-bodied on the attack, rich on the mid-palate, with a classy texture and plenty of flavor; the wine finishes long and savory with notes of orange and ripe Sauvignon. It’s very good!”

La Revue du Vin de France : 93-94/100 “Well-defined, this wine offers distinct aromas and a supple palate, underpinned by delicate, finely ripened fruit. The structure, taut yet without harshness, ensures a harmonious balance. The finish, characterised by a lovely savouriness, adds depth and provides a fitting conclusion to the tasting experience. A precise and promising wine.”

Vinous (N. Martin) : 92-94/100 "The 2025 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc has a well-defined nose, but perhaps like the Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, it feels bashful at this early stage. The palate is well balanced, with a peachy entry and, here, it is more expressive, with hints of mango and Clementine, just a little oak guiding the finish. Not quite up there with the outstanding '24, but close."

Full-bodied, fat and with a characteristic vanilla woody taste, the dry white wine of Lynch-Bages plays the charm and fabric card. Less than 4000 cases produced each year, far insufficient for global success.

    Voir la fiche technique

Vinous (A.Galloni) : 94/100 "The 2025 Blanc de Lynch-Bages is terrific. This is the first year with some Sauvignon Gris. The 2025 offers a beguiling mix of textural richness and aromatic intensity. Pear, green apple and jasmine open first, followed by light tropical overtones that lend an exotic flair. This was just bottled but is drinking very well today."

Vinous (N. Martin) : 89/100 "The 2025 Blanc de Lynch-Bages had already been bottled, as usual. It has a vibrant nose with crisp gooseberry and Granny Smith scents, and just a touch of apricot in the background. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, bright and lively, and a malic, slightly herbaceous finish. Fine."

The great white wine of Ch. Valandraud, with a sparkling sap and balance. With only 4000 bottles produced, it is a nugget that will do wonders on the table in 5 years (to take advantage of its youthful brilliance) or in 15 years.

A blend of predominantly Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, topped up with Semillon.

    See the technical sheet

Bettane+Desseauve : 95-96/100 “Rock powder, incense, fine honey, green pepper and rhubarb combine to create a sensual and refined bouquet. Citrus, white fruits and gooseberries carry this stimulating tension through to a taut and elegant finish.”

J-M Quarin : 95/100 “Delicate on the palate at first, very, very aromatic in the mid-palate, the wine develops into a smooth, elegant finish with a long, delicious aftertaste.”

Vinous (N. Martin) : 93-95/100 "The 2025 Valandraud Blanc was picked between September 4 and 9, with a little more Sauvignon Gris and Semillon this year, and also more aged in terracotta amphorae (30%). This has a complex nose that is engaging, scents of white flowers, yellow plum, almond and light mango. The palate is well balanced, with a keen line of acidity, lightly spiced with a dab of stem ginger, quite linear towards the finish and a twist of lemon rind on the aftertaste, intermixed with lemon thyme. Very fine."

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 93-95/100 « The 2025 Valandraud Blanc is a rare Sauvignon Gris-driven white. Lemon peel, sage, tomato leaf, crushed rocks and slate are all dialed up. The Blanc offers a compelling mix of textural richness and varietal character. Stylistically, it has more tension and energy than the Virginie Blanc."

In white, Domaine de Chevalier produces a model unique among its peers, made of tension, vivacity and energy. Its mineral side and its capacity to age (30 years and more) bring it closer to the greatest Burgundy whites.

    See the technical sheet

Vinous (A. Galloni): 97-99/100 “The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc gets my vote for the white wine of the vintage. Rich and powerful in the glass, but also beautifully vibrant, the 2025 dazzles from start to finish. Lemon confit, pear, slate, mint, white flowers and tangerine peel are some of the many aromas and flavors that develop over time. The 2025 is quite simply stunning. Don’t miss it!"

Bettane+Desseauve : 96/100 “Complex and subtle, it combines rose, citrus, white fruits and toasty notes in a mineral-driven expression. Dense, full-bodied and lively, the palate impresses with its salinity, length and precision. A great success.

J-M Quarin : 96/100 “Pale, brilliant colour. Intense nose with fresh fruit. Delicate hints of lemon and orange. Soft on the attack, smooth on the palate whilst remaining fresh, silky in texture; the wine develops juicily with distinguished flavours of orange and citrus. A beautifully long, silky finish that lingers on the palate. It’s superb!”

La Revue du Vin de France : 94-95/100 “With an expressive bouquet blending wild peach, juicy pear and white flowers, this wine charms from the very first sip. The palate confirms this first impression with a texture that is both dense and precise. Complex, deep and distinguished, it effortlessly combines intensity and refinement. Its harmonious structure and underlying freshness make it a complete, elegant wine with a most promising future.

Vinous (N. Martin): 91-93/100 "The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was picked from August 25 to September 6 at 38 hl/ha. It has a more backward, slightly reserved nose than I was expecting. It is keeping its cards hidden for now. The palate is well balanced, with good weight, fine density, touches of freshly sliced pear, stem ginger and lemon peel, though it feels linear and correct on the finish. Very fine, but I suspect it will reveal its true identity after bottling."

Sophisticated white wine from Pape-Clement, with a balance of tone and concentration that is always perfectly defined. Its 2020, precise, intense, discreetly woody and less smoky than usual, will be among the greatest Bordeaux whites of the decade.

    See the technical sheet

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 96-98/100 "Rich, vivid and textured, the 2025 Pape Clément Blanc is outrageously beautiful. Lemon confit, marzipan, white flowers, tangerine peel, mint and white pepper soar from the glass. All the elements are so well balanced. This builds beautifully through to the intense, palate-staining finish. In 2025, the Blanc is quite simply magnificent—clearly one of the wines of the vintage."

Bettane+Desseauve : 95-96/100 “Powerful yet supremely elegant, with notes of yellow fruit, lime blossom, hazelnut, smoke and flint. The silky, full-bodied texture gives way to a fresh, briny and mineral finish. Quite impressive for this vintage.”

Smith Haut Lafitte's white wine has built up a solid reputation over the past 20 years, even though it is not a grand cru classé (but neither are Haut-Brion blanc and Pape-Clément blanc). A happy marriage of wood and fruit, it always delivers a beautiful aromatic complexity, from lime blossom to citrus fruit, and a lively, rich, fine structure.

Ultra-confidential white wine from Cos d'Estournel, with a predominance of Sauvignon Blanc (75%) on a terroir located at the northern tip of the Médoc. The proximity of the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean gives the wine its freshness, its mineral notes and its marine accents.

Bettane+Desseauve : 95/100 “Precise and appealing, with flavours of fresh, crisp exotic fruit, underpinned by integrated ageing. The wine retains plenty of vibrancy and balance.”

J-M Quarin: 94/100 “Pale color with green highlights. A very aromatic, delicate, pure, floral, and fruity nose. Meticulously crafted on the attack, smooth on the mid-palate, the wine evolves with a caressing, tender texture toward a very flavorful and velvety finish.”

Vinous (N. Martin) : 92-94/100 "The 2025 Cos d'Estournel Blanc [...] is very fragrant and pure on the nose, Anjou pear and wild peach, vanilla pod and light chamomile scents evolving with time in the glass. Fine delineation. The palate is very well balanced, with a silver thread of acidity. Fine tension, quite persistent in the mouth, with a brisk and focused finish, this is a delicious white Cos d'Estournel that, again, will be difficult to resist once in bottle."

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 92-93/100 "The 2025 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is a potent, driving dry white. Green apple, pear, mint, white flowers and candied lime are some of the many nuances that develop with a bit of time in the glass. There's gorgeous mid-palate richness here that just needs time to emerge."

The dry white wine of Mouton-Rothschild, very confidential (1000 cases produced per year).

    See the data sheet

J-M Quarin : 95/100 “Notes of fresh orange and mint. Delicate on the palate at first, highly aromatic in the mid-palate, with a graceful texture; the wine develops into a deep, long and complex finish. An incredible success given the weather conditions. It suits it perfectly!”

Bettane+Desseauve : 93-94/100 “Enticing on the nose, with notes of white tea and tropical fruit. A lively, dynamic palate brimming with freshness that lingers, reinforcing that immediate sense of elegance.”

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 91-93/100 "The 2025 Aile d’Argent is potent and deep. The blend is Sauvignon Blanc-based, but that is not especially evident in the early going. Citrus confit, white flowers, mint and chalk open with a bit of time in the glass. The team, led by Technical Director Jean-Emmanuel Danjoy, opted for a bit more bâtonnage to compensate for the early harvest, a choice that paid off handsomely. The 2025 is a serious Aile d’Argent for the dinner table."

Vinous (N.Martin) : 89-90/100 "The 2025 Aile d'Argent has a relatively light nose with apple blossom and Conference pear scents—it just needs a tad more vigour. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, bright and malic with green apple and gooseberry from the Sauvignon Blanc, though not long in the mouth like some other dry whites. But perfectly fine."

Straddling Barsac and Sauternes (several of their plots are adjacent to Yquem, Climens or Lafaurie-Peyraguey), Haut-Bergeron enjoys a quality terroir superbly exploited by the Lamothe family for 9 generations (!). It is the artisanal cru and the sure value of Sauternes, of which each vintage wins its share of awards in competitions and guides.

La Revue du Vin de France : 92-94/100 “A powerful wine with a beautifully clear flavour profile, dominated by citrus notes. The purity of the roast ensures that its velvety, full-bodied, almost substantial character never becomes heavy. Great ageing potential.”

Vinous (N. Martin): 92-94/100 “The 2025 Haut-Bergeron has a fresh nose with peach skin, saffron and almond scents that unfurl in the glass with fine delineation. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with pure botrytised fruit, a keen line of acidity and a fresh, moreish finish that lingers in the mouth. Great potential here."

J-M Quarin: 89/100 “Golden yellow in colour. An intense, fruity nose with botrytised notes. Full-bodied and rich on the palate, with a touch of richness. Average length.”

Clos Haut-Peyraguey, a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Bommes, is situated on the highest point of the plateau overlooking the Sauternes region. The smallest vineyard among the Sauternes Grands Crus Classés, it covers 8.5 hectares of sandy gravel soil, predominantly planted with Sémillon. Created following the division of the former Château Peyraguey in 1879, the estate passed through several owners before being acquired by Bernard Magrez in 2012, making him the sole owner of estates in every classified appellation (alongside Pape-Clément in Pessac-Léognan, La Tour Carnet in the Médoc and Fombrauge in Saint-Émilion). Production remains exclusively dedicated to sweet wines, with a style characterised by aromatic richness, concentration and excellent ageing potential, bringing it closer to Yquem vintage after vintage.

    See the technical sheet

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 93-96/100 "The 2025 Clos Haut-Peyraguey was picked in three passes between 19 September and 7 October with 140 g/l residual sugar. This is quite pure and delineated on the nose with vanilla pod, acacia honey, French patisserie and light almond scents. The palate is well balanced with a viscous entry. The acidity here is very well judged, the pure botrytis coming through and shaping the very focused finish. Maybe not the most complex Sauternes that I tasted in what was a fecund vintage, but one of the finest Clos Haut-Peyraguey I have tasted at this early juncture."

Bettane+Desseauve : 95/100 “Intense aromas of apricot, candied orange, honey, menthol and flint, with a smooth palate, a texture of great elegance and a lovely finish.”

Vinous (N. Martin) : 93-95/100 "The 2025 Clos Haut-Peyraguey is a very delicate, nuanced wine. Hints of passion fruit, crème brûlée, mint, chamomile, floral-infused honey and orange confit fill out the layers. Soft contours add to the wine's total feeling of finesse, shaping the regal mid-palate and finish."

Administered by the Rothschilds (Mouton) since 1996, Coutet has joined the leading pack of the biggest Sauternes after Yquem. Like Climens, it is a true Barsac, pure and remarkably subtle, but with a more marked liquor. Since 2005, Coutet has been in great shape! In a rare feat, the exceptional 2020 vintage came top (ahead of Yquem) in the Revue du Vin de France's ranking of Sauternes 2020 « un sommet de pureté, de précoce harmonie, de naturel ! ».

    See the technical sheet

Bettane+Desseauve : 96-97/100 “A textbook example of classic style, this Barsac is characterised by its salty citrus notes and mineral character. A great success, with remarkable ageing potential.”

J-M Quarin : 96/100 « Golden in colour. An intense, fruity, pure and delicately creamy nose. Full-bodied on the attack, rich on the palate, with a silky texture; the wine caresses the palate and melts away with hints of fresh butter and spices. A long, flavourful and irresistible finish. It is superb. »

Vinous (N. Martin) : 95-97/100 "The 2025 Coutet is a little more backward on the nose than usual, less giving. But there is wonderful purity of fruit, lemon thyme and clementine scents, touches of white flower. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry, playing with Coutet's trademark thread of acidity that emanates from the limestone soils. Quite minerally and spicy on the aftertaste, this is a marvellous Barsac from the Baly family."

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 94-96/100 « The 2025 Coutet is redolent of burnt sugar, créme brulée, spice, passion fruit and candied ginger. Always quite rich texturally, Coutet blossoms beautifully on the palate with plenty of textural presence and body. It's a gorgeous wine by any measure. »

La Revue du Vin de France : 91-93/100 “An intense liqueur, with a full body and perfect length. The expression, however, seems somewhat reserved, with a hint of menthol and even aniseed that accentuates the ‘chalky’ firmness of this benchmark Barsac. There is a certain tightness that prevents one from fully grasping its character.”

Doisy-Daëne is located at the top of Barsac, between Climens and Coutet. Brilliantly orchestrated by Denis Dubourdieu (nicknamed the ‘pope of Bordeaux whites’) until 2016, his two sons Fabrice and Jean-Jacques are now continuing his work.

Doisy-Daëne is never the sweetest wine in its sector, but it always possesses unrivalled expression and aromatic refinement. Its purity and elegance make it all the more sought-after, especially as its prices remain reasonable.

    See the data sheet

Vinous (N. Martin) : 95-97/100 "The 2025 Doisy-Daëne has an intense nose with plenty of botrytised fruit, wonderful delineation, quite nuanced this year, with quince and light white peach scents intertwined with saffron. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, so pure and quite minerally, yet your senses are just awash with that layered botrytised fruit that lingers in the mouth. What a stunning Barsac."

Bettane+Desseauve : 95/100 “A masterful blend, capable of preserving all the complexity of noble rot. Still linear at present, it will become more sensual with age.”

    J-M Quarin : 95/100

La Revue du Vin de France : 93-95/100 “Already very harmonious, it offers a serene, distinguished profile. The palate is complex and penetrating. Its finish reveals a beautiful aromatic detail, where the fruit is adorned with enticing notes of crème brûlée, vanilla and tonka bean…”

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 92-94/100 "The 2025 Doisy-Daéne is aromatic, lifted and sculpted. Green apple, pear, jasmine and crushed rocks are finely delineated in an airy Barsac that has so much to offer. The 2025 can be enjoyed young for its freshness, but it clearly has the eneray and pedigree to age info an exceptional sweet wine over time."

Classified among the first growths of Sauternes during the classification of 1855, the vineyard of Rayne Vigneau (84 hectares, including 62 in one piece) is famous for its soil, which is well known to geologists, as it is composed of a great variety of precious minerals of Pyrenean origin. Without losing sight of these "luxurious" origins " Rayne Vigneau offers smooth, easily accessible wines with floral aromas that are particularly marked in their youth.

    See the data sheet

La Revue du Vin de France : 95-97/100 “Remarkably fragrant and invigorating, evocative, with fruity notes enhanced by penetrating hints of pink grapefruit and bergamot. Full of flavour, then, a lively wine with a slender body, intense rather than full-bodied. Already very appealing, this distinguished wine stands out as one of the great successes of the vintage.”

Vinous (N. Martin): 95-97/100 "The 2025 Rayne-Vigneau has a backward nose with dried honey, yellow plum and almond scents, perhaps less forward than some of its peers. The palate is well balanced with a very pure entry, bright acids and a gorgeous, tender yet paradoxically powerful finish. Oh yes!"

Bettane+Desseauve : 96/100 “A magnificent balance, full-bodied and deep, with a vigour reminiscent of the appellation’s greatest historical achievements. An ideal expression of the Haut-Bommes terroir.”

Vinous (A. Galloni): 92-94/100 "The 2025 Rayne-Vigneau is a wild, exotic wine. Orange confit, burnt sugar, creme brilée and candied ginger build in an ample, creamy, rich, luscious Sauternes. This is beautifully done. Extroverted tropical and spice overtones emerge on the close."

In the commune of Preignac, Suduiraut offers a wine that reflects its geographical position: halfway between Sauternes and Barsac. The latest vintages are dazzling in terms of contained power and aromatic distinction : La Revue du Vin de France awarded the 2016 vintage 99/100, describing it as “masterful”, Vinous (Galloni) awarded the 2023 vintage 100/100: “A model of modern Sauternes, of absolute finesse and smoothness. A timeless wine that ranks among the finest achievements of the year” and according to Bettane & Desseauve (Guide 2025), “Yquem is the only wine that can still do a little better”.

    See the technical sheet

La Revue du Vin de France : 96-98/100 “This wine impresses with its intensity and fullness. The palate is both dense—with a textural richness rarely found in Sauternes sweet wines—and lingering. A proud wine that fills the entire mouth without becoming overpowering; on the contrary, it reveals magnificent notes of freshness on the finish.”

Vinous (N. Martin): 96-98/100 “The 2025 Suduiraut [...] has a fragrant bouquet with wild honey, linseed, saffron and light orange pith scents that blossom in the glass, though I would not describe it as intense, but very pure. The palate is well balanced, with a viscous opening, very pure botrytised fruit and a killer line of acidity. There is no heaviness here, and despite the 158 g/L residual sugar, it feels light on its toes. Oh yes.”

Bettane+Desseauve : 97/100 « Richly structured, it displays impressive length and all the aristocratic depth characteristic of the vintage »

J-M Quarin: 97/100 “Yellow in colour. An intense, fruity and creamy nose. On the palate, it is as light as can be, complex and delicious, with a refined texture and controlled power. A marvellous finish. A long, light and delicate aftertaste. It is very good.”

Vinous (A. Galloni): 94-96/100 “The 2025 Suduiraut is 100% Sémillon picked six weeks later than the dry whites in the three tries, with most of the final blend coming from the last two picks. Tangerine oil, mint, white pepper and passion fruit are some of the notes that grace the palate.”

The only 1er cru classé in the commune of Sauternes with Yquem, Guiraud offers rich, voluminous, powerful wines with a formal classicism. Certified organic since the 2011 vintage.

J-M Quarin : 97/100 « Pale yellow in colour, with a brilliant sheen. The nose is intense, refined, pure and subtle, with hints of raspberry and cream. On the palate, it is remarkable, offering a first-class texture, a fresh and subtle aromatic profile, a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, and a long, intricate finish. A thoroughly seductive and magnificent wine. »

Vinous (N. Martin) : 95-97/100"The 2025 Guiraud is well defined on the nose, with plenty of botrytised fruit, hints of saffron and apricot blossom, quite nuanced compared with some of its peers. The palate is well balanced, with a tangy, mellifluous entry. Bright acidity counters the richness of this Guiraud, a touch of spice towards the lingering and powerful finish that fans out with style. This is a great Guiraud from winemaker Sandrine Garbay."

Bettane+Desseauve : 95-96/100 “A very successful vintage, characterised by textbook botrytis and top-class ageing. Great length.

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 93-95/100 "The 2025 Guiraud balances power and energy like very few Sauternes can. Orange confit, passion fruit, crystallized ginger and exotic white flowers fil out the layers. Silky contours are a sign of total finesse. Impeccable. Guiraud is one of the most elegant Sauternes readers will come across. »

La Revue du Vin de France : 92-94/100Elegant and restrained, it displays great finesse and nuance. Whilst it follows the eminently distinguished style of the 2022 and 2023 vintages, this 2025 appears slightly more reserved in its expression.

The arrival of Mr. Denz in 2014 has restored all its luster to this 1er cru classé de Bommes, a perfect synthesis between the elegance and distinction of Barsac and the richness and power of the Haut-Sauternes region.

    See the technical sheet

La Revue du Vin de France : 97-99/100 “In a very consistent vintage, this wine has that certain something extra… The sample is deeply fruity, indulgent and luscious, with an enticing flavour of roasted peach. Very pure, straightforward and progressive on the palate despite its overflowing sensuality, it masterfully balances its rich body (171 g/l, albeit less than the memorable 2022 and 2023 vintages), returning on the finish to a moving closeness to fresh fruit.”

Vinous (N. Martin) : 96-98/100 "The 2025 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is the only cuvée this year, there is no second wine. This was cropped at 12 hl/ha between September 16 and October 9 via three tries, one just to clean the vineyard, and comprises 100% Sémillon with 175 g/l of residual sugar. It has a very nuanced bouquet that opens nicely with aeration, dried peach, pear and light waxy scents, a touch of saffron in the background. The palate is beautiful, very well balanced with pure botrytised fruit, a little almond and chamomile towards the finish with very well integrated oak. This is a really classy Sauternes that has a long future ahead."

J-M Quarin : 96/100 “A hint of oak. On the palate, it has a delicate texture and is highly aromatic, developing notes of mandarin liqueur. A very refined palate despite the immense richness of residual sugars. A long, flavourful finish.”

Bettane+Desseauve : 94-96/100 “Powerful and full-bodied, admittedly a little less developed or open than others at this stage, but knowing the estate, there is no doubt about its class and potential.”

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 94-96/100 "The 2025 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is airy and gracious right out of the gate. Orange confit, candied ginger, passion fruit and tangerine oil are some of the notes that grace this understated, silky Sauternes endowed with regal finesse and class."
