Unquestionably the most popular vintage of the Médoc. Over the years, Haut-Marbuzet has been able to gain in finesse and balance by keeping its Merlot dominance and maturing in new oak barrels. Delicious !
Bettane+Desseauve : 95/100 “Delicious, rich and smooth, with a subtle yet distinct oakiness. A noble and instantly appealing harmony.”
La Revue du Vin de France : 94-95/100 “There’s no doubt about it: the 2025 vintage continues the wine’s string of successes in the style that is its strength and has built its reputation. Smooth, silky and intensely fruity, it is driven by the fine Merlot grapes of its terroir and offers an explosive palate with magnificent tannins.”
Vinous (N. Martin): 93-95/100 “The 2025 Haut-Marbuzet showed a bit of reduction on the nose, perhaps less flamboyant than in previous years, stricter yet still well defined. The palate is medium-bodied, with pliant tannins, attractive peppered black fruit, succinctly controlled, with a lightly peppered and quite sustained finish. Excellent, classy, more-ish."
J-M Quarin: 92/100 “A deep, intense red colour with bright highlights. Moderately aromatic and fruity on the nose. Delicate on the palate initially, very flavourful on the mid-palate, with depth of aroma and a slightly pronounced oaky presence at this stage; the wine finishes long and succulent, with a slight touch of austerity that should mellow with ageing.”
Vinous (A. Galloni): 90-93/100 “The 2025 Haut-Marbuzet is a wild, powerful wine, and one of the most distinctive wines in Bordeaux. Huge fruit and equally imposing tannins are the signatures. This old-school Saint-Estèphe is going to require quite a bit of patience, but it has so much to offer. Gravel, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and dried herbs meld into the huge, tannic finish. Give this time."
