Immediate neighbour of Pavia, Larcis-Ducasse was logically promoted to 1st Grand Cru Classé in 2012 due to its full south-facing hillside exposure and the brilliant work of the Thienpont-Derenoncourt tandem.

Terre de Vins : 98-99/100 Coup de ♥  "“Light and freshness” is how the team describes the 2025 vintage, and one can hardly disagree. A burst of fruitiness bursts from the glass, releasing a fragrance that is both floral and heady. On the palate, it unfolds with a silky texture, a juicy delicacy. The texture, both airy and grounded, is a model of its kind, given a twist by a finish that is both salty and blood-orange, adding an extra touch of character. Yet another great success for this estate.”

Bettane+Desseauve : 97/100 “The concentration of the grapes and the terroir provide a perfect expression of the tannins and aromas. The Cabernet Franc enhances a peppery, floral and very promising finish.”

J-M Quarin : 97/100 “Deep black colour with purple highlights. Intense, fruity nose. Hints of fresh black fruit. Complex when swirled in the glass. Meticulous on the palate at first, flavourful in the mid-palate, with a delicate richness coating the palate; the wine develops into a full-bodied, juicy, noble wine, leading to a long, complex finish with deep aromas. It’s superb! I haven’t tasted it like this since the 2016 vintage.”

La Revue du Vin de France : 95-97/100 « It clearly stands out for the quality of its sparkling fruit, complemented by delicate floral notes and a subtle hint of limestone. The tannins are very well-defined, enveloped in a velvety texture that brings out a minerality which gives the wine a long finish. The full-bodied structure envelops the whole beautifully. ”

Vinous (A. Galloni) : 95-97/100 “The 2025 Larcis Ducasse is another exceptional wine from one of the most under-the-radar estates in Saint-Émilion. Dark red-fleshed fruits, rose petal, lavender, mocha, licorice, sage and graphite are all seamless in the glass. The 2025 marries power with finesse to a degree that is exceptionally rare. Lively acids and lifted floral overtones brighten the long, resonant finish."

Vinous (N. Martin) : 95-97/100 “The 2025 Larcis Ducasse has a gorgeous bouquet already, with pure blackberry and cassis fruit, seamlessly integrated new oak, retaining focus and delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, with very fine lace-like tannins, perfectly judged acidity, bright acids towards the finish upholding tension and a silky texture that is totally disarming. Outstanding."
