Rated 95/100 by Neal Martin (Vinous) « The palate is very well balanced with a harmonious entry, well-judged acidity and great tension thanks to a bitter orange peel note that counterbalances the rich, honeyed fruit on the finish. Superb. » (April 2021)

» (Nov. 2021)

There are only a few unclassified wines left in Pauillac, and Pibran is by far the best of them!

New denomination of the second wine of Pichon-Baron from the 2012 vintage, undoubtedly at the level of the 5th growths of Pauillac.

The 2020 vintage is rated 93/100 by La Revue du Vin de France " Les Griffons, in which Merlot accounts for 50% of the blend, is even more refined and precise, with a crystalline side. It benefits from perfectly balanced ageing, in the service of explosive fruit". (Guide 2024)

Rated 93/100 by N. Martin «The 2020 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron contains the Petit Verdot that was previously blended with the Les Tourelles. This has an intense nose with graphite and chalk-tinged black fruit, touches of black olive compote emerging with time, all with wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm and saturated tannins, very pure, precise and poised. Gentle grip with a lively, citrus-fresh finish, and hints of blue fruit on the aftertaste. » (December 2022)

» (Apr. 2020)

(Nov. 2021)

Bought in 1986 by the AXA group, initially under the leadership of Mr. Cazes (Lynch-Bages), Pichon-Longueville Baron regained its best form in the powerful and distinguished style of the great Pauillac. It must be said that a small half of its vines are located next to those of Latour, on a first growth terroir! For the Revue du Vin de France: "Pichon-Baron is at the top in the last vintages".

Rated 99/100 by the Guide de la Revue du Vin de France 2024 "What a wine! Let's start with the finish, endless and saline, velvety, with notes of fresh fruit and tonic, mellow acidity. The mid-palate? Full, ample, fleshy and absolutely delicious, with fruit that's full of sparkle and smoothness. "

Rated 94+/100 by Antonio Galloni after bottling « The 2017 Pichon-Baron has developed into a potent wine, even by its own standards. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, grilled herbs, licorice, new leather and spice all flesh out in a succulent Pauillac that shows the racier personality of the year. » (March 2020)

» (Oct. 2020)

After a real turn towards more elegance under the leadership of Axa Vignobles, Petit-Village was sold in 2020 to MM Moulin (Beauregard) and Cathiard (Smith-Haut-Lafitte). Given its terroir (wedged between Vieux-Certan/La Conseillante and Trotanoy/Le Pin) and the new team's decision to convert immediately to organic, Petit-Village will soon be in the news.
