Maison Roederer has been regaining its lustre since 2010, under the guidance of its excellent cellar master Mr. Lecaillon, a firm believer in permaculture and agroforestry who in 2018 put half (120 ha) of the vineyard into organic conversion. The House's style is now oriented towards straightforwardness and salinity, refined and uncluttered wines.
The range begins with the cuvée Collection, as much an aperitif champagne as a meal wine, thanks to the addition of reserve wines. Then come three vintages (Brut, Rosé and Blanc de Blancs) to conclude with Cristal, their world-famous flagship cuvée.
Collection is a multi-vintage blend, dominated by chardonnay (40%) and pinots noir and meunier. Collection n°244 is built around the 2019 harvest (54%).
The cuvée “Collection n°244” in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 92/100 Coup de ♥ "The 244 magnum impresses with its openness, depth and fullness. A cuvée to be treasured."
Vinous (A. Galloni - November 2024): 93/100 “The room is buzzing as guests start to arrive. A glass of the NVV Collection 244 sets the mood.Collection is a new Champagne from Roederer, essentially the former Brut Premier reinterpreted with a focus on freshness and verve. Those qualities come alive in the glass. Brisk acids cut through a core of orchard fruit, chamomile and crushed rocks. What a beautiful and expressive wine this is.”
La Revue du Vin de France (December 2023): 91-92/100 “Fine, precise, defined nose on delicate brioche. Ample, tasty and dynamic on the palate. Great elegance of bubbles and velvety mousse. The contribution of the 36% perpetual reserve and the 10% reserve wines aged in wood adds depth and patina. A long, saline finish for this energetic, smooth and very sapid wine. The Louis Roederer Collections continue to seduce us!"

Collection is a multi-vintage blend, dominated by chardonnay (40%) and pinots noir and meunier. Collection n°243 is built around the 2018 harvest (59%), blended with 41% reserve wines from vintages 2009 to 2017.
The cuvée ‘Collection n°243’ in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni - November 2022): 93/100 "The NV Collection 243 is bright, punchy and wonderfully effusive, the 243 really shows the more vibrant style Roederer is going for with their new entry-level NV bottling. Citrus peel white, flowers, mint, slate and a host of saline notes build nicely. This is impressive, to say the least."

The Brut Millésimé is built around Pinot Noirs (70%) from the original Roederer vineyard, “La Montagne”. Aged an average of 4 years on lees, it combines a fleshy, vinous texture with subtle fruity and smoky aromas.
The 2016 vintage in the press :
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 95/100 "The 2016 vintage stands out as a great success, accurately expressing all the nobility of this vintage, appreciated by discerning wine lovers."
Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 93/100 "The 2016 Vintage is terrific. Rich, creamy and super-expressive, the 2016 is an absolute delight. All this fruit is from Roederer's La Montagne estate, with Pinot Noir very much driving the blend. That comes through in a Champagne of notable textural resonance and breadth that grows with air. Hints of apricot, plum, spice and dried flowers caress the palate, all framed by a discreet touch of oak and extra kick of texture from a few lots (5%) that underwent malolactic fermentation. This is a superb edition of the vintage. The blend is 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay. Here, the richness of the warm summer very much comes through."

The Rosé Millésimé is obtained by a slow, gentle maceration of Pinot Noir in part of the Chardonnay juice. This “infusion” process gives it a round, fresh character, with aromas of tart red fruits (redcurrant) perfectly integrated.
The 2017 vintage rosé in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 92/100 "The 2017 Rosé is bright and finely sculpted. Crushed red berries, grapefruit, chalk, mint and white pepper lend palpable energy throughout. This is an especially nervy edition of the Rosé. It will appeal most to readers who enjoy taut, vibrant Champagnes. The blend is 62% Pinot Noir (all from Cumières) and 38% Chardonnay (from Chouilly), with the energy of Cumières very much driving the blend. The Pinot came in the early side, which was necessary to avoid rot. It is a fine effort in a vintage in which Roederer made just two vintage Champagnes, the Rosé and Blanc de Blancs."

Blanc de blancs Millésimé 2016 in the press:
Vinous (A.Galloni - November 2023): 94/100 and ranked #64 among the “100 Wines of the Year 2024” "The 2016 Brut Blanc de Blancs Vintage is laced with hints of tropical fruit, lime, mint, passionfruit and crushed rocks. Intensely aromatic and light on its feet, the 2016 impresses with its gracious, understated personality. Sourced from plots in the mid-slope Grand Cru vineyard of La Côte in Avize, readers will find a Blanc de Blancs endowed with tons of energy and nuance."

Brut Nature is a new transversal cuvée, produced only in great years, where purity (zero dosage) and generosity (pinot noir dominance) are the watchwords.
The cuvée ‘Brut nature’ vintage 2012 in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2019): 94/100 "The 2012 Brut Nature is rich, powerful and incredibly expressive. It is also the most complete Brut Nature Roederer has made, as it has less of the austerity of previous releases and more creaminess. Powerful and yet gracious, the 2012 has so much to offer. Dried flowers, chamomile, dried pear and mint are all laced throughout this sublime, wonderfully nuanced Champagne. The Brut Nature is a field bend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20 % Meuniertaken from three parcels in Cumières and vinified together."

Cristal, the highlight of the range, is a model of purity and balance. A true “champagne de garde”, it can be cellared for over 15 years without losing any of its freshness or power.
The 2016 vintage of "Cristal" in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 97/100 Coup de ♥ "Cristal 2016 has a bright future ahead of it: a magnificent, well-rounded wine, both mature and fresh, in true Champagne style."
Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 96/100 "The 2016 Cristal is bright, aromatic and nicely lifted. Citrus peel white flowers, mint and a touch of chamomile all grace this understaded, wonderfully refined edition of Cristal. Light on its feet and super-refined, the 2016 is exquisite in its understated beauty. I can't wait to see how the 2016 ages and won't be surprised it gains a bit of weight in bottle, as Cristal so often does. The blend is 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay, so a touch more Chardonnay than the norm. Of the 45 parcels that make up the Cristal domaine, just 32 were used for the blend. Verzy and Vernezay dominate the Pinots, then Aÿ. Avize takes the lead in the Chardonnays, followed by Mesnil and Cramant."
