Second wine of Brane-Cantenac, Baron de Brane demonstrates even more than his big brother the progress made in this château over the last 15 years. With a silky smooth 2016, deliciously crisp and juicy on the finish, Baron de Brane is now more than a second wine, it is a brand in its own right!
Vinous (A. Galloni): 90-92/100 "The 2024 Baron de Brane is aromatic and brisk in its first impression. Strong floral and savory notes lead into a core of dark blue/purplish fruit. Lavender, spice, dried herbs and menthol open with a bit of time in the glass. In 2024, the Baron is gracious and inviting. Production will be down by about 50% because of selection, with many of the lots going into Margaux de Brane, the château's thrid wine."
Vinous (N. Martin): 87-89/100 "The 2024 Baron de Brane has a straightforward nose, classic in style, pencil lead infusing the black fruit, just a touch of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, crisp acidity, the Cabernet more expressive than the Merlot toward the graphite finish."
