Second wine of Gruaud-Larose. In a rather powerful and tight register, Sarget is a serious and convincing Saint-Julien, with substance, at its best after 5 to 7 years of ageing.

Succulent red cherry/plum fruit and sweet spice notes are pushed forward. Soft contours wrap it all together while pretty floral accents lift the finish. This mid-weight Saint-Julien is a delight."
Vinous (N. Martin) : 86-88/100 "The 2024 Sarget de Gruaud Larose has a light but pleasant bouquet with blackberry and wild hedgerow scents. It's quite sedated–in a good way. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, dark berry fruit laced with cedar at its core and a peppery if slightly short finish."
