In 2000, Malescot Saint-Exupéry woke up under the leadership of Michel Rolland. Since then, in a generous and serene style, very rich for a Margaux, he has never ceased to distinguish himself. As the Revue du Vin de France wrote: "In 10 years, it is the wine that has made the most progress among the Margaux wines".
Vinous (A. Galloni) : 93-95/100 « The 2025 Malescot Saint Exupéry is classic Malescot -dark, powerful and quite brooding. Dark-toned fru, gravel, incense, licorice, tobacco and dried herbs are delineated with serious concentration and pure, unbridled power. This backward, massively tannic Margaux is a wine for readers who can be patient. »
La Revue du Vin de France : 93-94/100 “With ripe fruit, notes of cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, and a robust structure, it also offers a lovely delicacy. The oak is still prominent at this early stage, but the wine’s depth is already evident and it will develop a fine balance. Excellent potential.”
Vinous (N. Martin) : 92-94/100 "It offers vivacious, predominantly red berry fruit on the nose, wild strawberry and raspberry, nudging towards a Côtes de Nuits in some ways. Very pure and quite sensual. The palate is medium-bodied, with sappy red berry fruit and quite grippy tannins. Impressive depth and structure, a larger-framed Malescot St. Exupery with a tangible, sapid, black olive-tinged finish."
Bettane+Desseauve : 92-93/100 “Still somewhat immature today, but with excellent body and obvious potential. Its substance and structure suggest it will develop beautifully.”
J-M Quarin : 92/100 « Black in colour. The nose is of medium intensity, with very ripe fruit. A hint of spice emerges when the glass is swirled. Soft on the palate at first, full-bodied and spicy in the mid-palate, the wine develops into a smooth, rounded finish with plenty of flavour. Good length. »
