Since 2006, Cantenac-Brown has returned to the forefront of the Margaux scene with wines that are fuller-bodied and deeper than most of its neighbors. A direct competitor of Giscours. "The rising star of Margaux," according to the Revue du Vin de France! The arrival of the new owners in 2019 (Le Lous family) marks a new qualitative progression, with the acquisition of 10 additional hectares and the complete renovation of the winery.
La Revue du Vin de France : 94-96/100 “With a distinct and very precise style, Cantenac Brown 2025 is a wine of great class, with a very pure expression of fruit. The mid-palate is juicy and full-bodied. The finish is elegant, savoury and delightfully crisp.”
Vinous (A. Galloni) : 94-96/100 "The 2025 Cantenac Brown is quite the powerhouse. Dark and ample in feel, the 2025 offers gorgeous presence and class to burn. Crème de cassis, new leather, lavender, menthol, licorice and mocha are some of the many notes that open with a bit of coaxing. There's tremendous substance and stuffing here. The tannins are quite fine, which is especially remarkable considering the wine's intense fruit."
J-M Quarin: 95/100 “A deep red colour with purple and black highlights. Intense, refined, fruity, subtle and delicate on the nose, with depth. Meticulous on the attack, then immediately full-bodied and flavourful, the wine develops great aromatic complexity, with a persistent richness throughout. It melts from the mid-palate onwards and lingers for a long time with notes of black fruit, spices and oak. It’s superb!”
Vinous (N. Martin): 93-95/100 "The 2025 Cantenac Brown has a lovely lift on the nose, with brambly black fruit, crushed stone and a light iris flower scent, not as intense as the Brane-Cantenac but cut from a similar cloth. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine, lace-like tannins. This Margaux is all about purity, lightly spiced, with a gentle grip on the finish. This is a classy, sophisticated Cantenac Brown."
