Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2021): 93/100 "The 2018 Clerc Milon is showing beautifully today. Gorgeous savory notes from the Cabernet Sauvignon open first, showing the modern direction of Clerc Milon towards a more Cabernet focused wine. Dried flowers, menthol, licorice, graphite and black cherry are all laced together effortlessly. The tannins have sttled down a bit since en primeur, which is a very good sign for the future."

La Revue du Vin de France (November 2020): 95/100 “In 2018, the vintage perfectly manages the richness of the vintage. The wine explodes with fruit, yet is sharp. It retains a very energetic and tonic side.”

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 93/100 "The 2016 Clerc Milon has more fruit on the nose than d'Armailhac, with blackberry, raspberry and cedar, just a touch of leather coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, not the most powerful Pauillac, but well balanced with a grainy texture. A touch of cracked black pepper and tobacco towards the classically-styled finish."

Delicate on the entry, particularly aromatic in the middle, the wine progresses with a refined touch and a melting body. It caresses the palate before finishing long and fine.Delicious!"

Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2023): 92/100 “The 2021 Duhart-Milon is a very pleasant surprise. There's very little Merlot this year, and that seems to result in a serious, at times somber, Duhart-Milon, Black cherry, gravel, spice, licorice and graphite build beautifully with time in the glass. The 2021 is gorgeous.”

La Revue du Vin de France (November 2023): 95/100 “It's both serious and well-balanced, with a very racy side. Remarkably well-balanced and easily digestible, it finishes with racy, silky tannins and a hint of menthol.”

J-M Quarin (March 2023): 94/100 “Dark, intense and beautiful color. Very aromatic nose, fruity, creamy and slightly truffled. Minutious on entry, refined to the touch, very aromatic, the wine develops on a graceful general bearing. It melts in the finish, fragrant, long, sappy and very good”.

Vinous (N.Martin - January 2024): 92/100 “The 2020 Duhart-Milon has a classy, well-defined bouquet, with brambly red fruit, pencil box and scents of autumn leaves, gradually gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with rather dry tannins that render of brightness and charm at the moment. Even so, I would contentedly cellar this for three or four years because there is potential.”

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 93/100 "The 2016 Duhart-Milon has a very perfumed, floral, almost Margaux-like bouquet that blossoms in the glass, veins of blue fruit coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a fine thread of acidity, quite linear and focused, with a dash of black pepper and graphite towards the finish. Real class and sensuality here."

Quarin (February 2020): 94/100 “Very aromatic, very Medoc nose. A touch of ink, on a background of fresh, ripe fruit. Delicious through and through, this wine melts in the mouth, with class in the touch and a finish of refined and even perfumed tannic grain. It's long, very good and the best I've ever tasted.”

Vinous (Antonio Galloni - January 2020): 93/100 “The 2016 Duhart-Milon is absolutely gorgeous. I am pleasantly surprised to see how much textural and weight the 2016 has gained over the course of its aging. Dark, ample and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2016 is positively striking.”

J-M Quarin (February 2025): 97/100 "Dark, beautiful colour with black highlights. Intense, subtle, fruity, smooth and deep nose. Delicate and suave on the palate, the wine develops into a juicy, full-bodied, deep wine with a long, complex finish. The structure is very tight, as is often the case, but the powerful flavour dominates the tannin. A welcome decanting. A very distinctive vintage."

Vinous (N. Martin - November 2024): 93+/100 “The Lynch-Bages 2020 presents a curiously retro nose, showing earthy black fruits mixed with bay leaves and pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied with round, supple tannins. Bold and assertive, it has plenty of concentration, although it doesn't have the same precision on the finish as its peers in this category. This is another great wine that may be entering a difficult adolescence.”

Vinous (N. Martin - June 2021): 96/100 “The 2018 Lynch-Bages has a decadent bouquet, sexy almost, with luxurious black and blueberry fruit, a touch of glycerine that develops with aeration. The palate is dense and powerful with lush black cherry, blueberry and plenty of vanillary notes. Silky in texture, there is wonderful weight and poise on the finish, but it clearly needs many years in bottle.”

Vinous (N. Martin - June 2021): 97/100 “The 2016 Lynch-Bages is primal but concentrated on the nose with blueberry and crushed violet scents. This is powerful, sensual and utterly glorious. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, assertive and structured yet retaining ample freshness. There is a subtle marine note that comes through on the finish. One of the most profound releases from the estate in recent years...maybe ever ?”

Vinous (N. Martin - June 2021): 95/100 “The 2010 Lynch-Bages has a tightly wound nose: introverted black fruit, cedar and mint. Touches of iris flower and pencil box both emerge with aeration. These aromatics say: "Come back later." The palate is medium-bodiedwith sappy black fruit, fine acidity and firm grip. It feels linear towards the finish but is fresh with an attractive underlying marine note that enlivens and lends complexity to the finish. This is outstanding, but it is only for those with patience.”

Martin - June 2021): 92/100 “The 2009 Lynch-Bages is very well defined on the nose, yet powerful with ample fruit to spare: blackberry, wild strawberry, cranberry mixed with cedar and a light mint touch. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and lightly spiced with superb focus. It exerts a gentle grip from start to finish, then delivers an engaging, spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent.”

J-M Quarin (June 2025): 93/100 "Dark colour, medium intensity and slightly evolved. Moderately aromatic nose, fruity and animal. Meticulous on the palate and immediately flavourful, the wine offers significant oakiness. It develops liquorice notes and is quite long and a little austere. Warm touch. I will wait a little longer."

La Revue du Vin de France (June 2023): 98/100 “Spherical and velvety on the palate, unctuous substance and tannins lifted by a minty freshness. Very long finish with a range of elegant scents. Irresistible!"

Vinous (N. Martin - June 2021): 93/100 “The 2005 Lynch-Bages is more opulent on the nose with camphor-tinged black and red fruit, desiccated orange peel and sage. With time, it develops a lovely floral component. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, bold and brassy with plenty of substance. This is no shy retiring wallflower but laced with white pepper on the finish. Maybe it is a bit brash for same? But give this time because it will ultimately mellow.”

Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 98/100 “The 2023 Pontet-Canet envelops the palate with silky tannins as hints of vibrant red-toned fruit, crushed flowers, spice and dried herbs fill out the layers. The 2023 is an exceptionally finessed Pontet-Canet. This is the first vintage in which the Grand Vin was blended early—in December following the harvest—as opposed to just before bottling, which had been the norm. That's one of many changes that resulted in a striking wine endowed with superb finesse."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 94/100 “The 2023 Pontet Canet has a tightly knit bouquet with those dark cherries and blackcurrant scents noted previously, albeit with a subtle cassis scent emerging with time. This is nicely poised and more classical in style compared to previous vintages. Free sulphites here are around 30 mg/L. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, slightly edgy tannins, more tension and mineralité tucked into this vintage than the 2022. Nicely composed towards the finish with a residual pepperiness that lingers, this is a fine Pontet Canet. Tasted three times including at the château.”

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2025): 96/100 “The 2021 confirms its greatness! The wine offers absolutely magnificent refinement and subtlety. Freshly fruited, it unfolds on the palate with great suavity and silkiness. The substance is superb, the fruit is poised and the tannins are lacy. One of the most charming wines of the vintage”.

Vinous (N.Martin - November 2023): 93/100 “The 2021 Pontet Canet, which coontains a little more Petit Verdot than usual, was bottled in july. It has a very attractive bouquet with pure black fruit, cedar and light iris flower scents. It is not powerful, yet there is elegance here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and a crisp line of acidity. Just a hint of mocha lurks in the background, but there is a satisfying, almost citric freshness toward the finish.”

Delicate on the palate, with flavour, fruit and, from the mid-palate onwards, a meticulous tightening of the texture. Beautifully long and deep finish, without any harshness. Very good."

La Revue du Vin de France (December 2021): 96/100 “The wine shows a beautiful richness managed by a framework of quality tannins that stretch the palate and give it relief. This is a serious wine, still fleshy, with many years ahead of it."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2020): 92/100 "The 2010 Pontet-Canet is noticeably deep in colour compared to its peers. This is unusually ripe  and sweet on the nose, more red than black fruit, maybe a little jammy and confit-like. I would never guess this was a 2010 Left Bank. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy mouthfeel, plenty of graphite tinged red fruit. Approachable in style and sensually fulfilling, it just lacks a bit of grip backbone on the finish. I have fonder memories of previous bottles but I could not identify any specific fault."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2020): 92/100 "A meeting by chance with the 2008 Pontet-Canet prior to a small tasting of South African wines reminded me what a lovely wine this is. There is plenty of black fruit on the nose laced with graphite. The cedar component is less prominent than the previous bottled tasting. The palate is medium-bodied, a little drier and more austere than recent vintages, yet clearly well balanced with a surfeit of freshness on the slightly herbaceous finish."

Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 97/100 “The 2023 Pichon Baron is a gorgeous, statuesque beauty, just as it was en primeur. Soaring aromatic top notes meld into a core of dark-hued fruit, gravel and new leather. This builds beautifully with time in the glass, showing notable resonance that really explodes on the back end. More than anything else, I am impressed with the precision and vertical energy that have become such an integral part of the wines here in recent years.”

J-M Quarin (March 2026): 97/100 "Beautiful dark red colour. Intense, refined, fruity, subtle and very fragrant nose. Hints of plum and vanilla. Meticulous on the palate, very aromatic in the middle, with a refined touch and a serene, mellow development, the wine stretches and grows on the finish, without losing any richness. Long, complex and deep persistence with a fine texture. It's impossible to spit out."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 95/100 "The 2023 Pichon Baron has a perfumed bouquet with iris flower-infused black fruit, background scents of orange pith, cedar and blueberry. Very pure and beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with very pliant tannins, crisp and quite linear, impressive mineralité with an almost understated finish if you compare it to the '22. Quintessential Pichon Baron and I would broach this before the '22."

Vinous (N. Martin - January 2026): 94+/100 “The 2022 Pichon Baron has a bright and fresh bouquet, much more floral in style than its peers, with violet-infused black and blueberry fruit. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, with what feels like a "natural/low SO2" element on the entry. Just a bit sweet 'n sour, though undeniably quite polished and long on the finish. Not quite as good a bottle as last year, but still a great wine”

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026): 98/100 "It expresses the great pedigree of Cabernet grapes at a perfect point of balance and maturity. The wine is juicy, salty and velvety. Its energetic finish is exemplary in its freshness, unfolding endless waves of black fruit notes. It is set to age for several decades."

Vinous (A. Galloni - January 2025): 98/100 "The 2022 Pichon Baron is one of the most elegant, polished wines I have ever tasted here. Silky and refined, the 2022 is super-impressive right out of the gate. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. Blood orange, herbs and floral notes lend notable delineation to a core of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. As I did en primeur, I find the wine's balance nothing short of exquisite. There's more freshness and vibrancy here than in the past, along with a noticeably lower oak imprint and more sensual tannins that lend notable sophistication throughout. The Grand Vin spent 16 months in French oak barreks, 70% new, and then two months in wood cats prior to bottling."

J-M Quarin (February 2025): 99/100 "Black colour, intense and lively. The nose starts off a little subdued, before developing in the glass, fine, subtle, deep and complex. Nuances of black fruit and spices. Full-bodied from the outset, then immediately dense, with a fine fatness that runs across the palate combined with an exuberant black fruit flavour, the wine evolves serenely over a noble yet tight tannic structure. Great complex persistence. A great, powerful Pichon Baron, with a rare mellowness. For the moment, the best ever made with the 2016."

Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2023): 96/100 “Dark and brooding in bearing, the 2021 Pichon Baron is a somber, mysterious wine. It is every bit as impressive as it was en primeur. Graphite, leather, spice, mocha and dried herbs meld together in a wine of power, precision and contemporary classicism. It's one of my early favorites in this vintage. I won't be too surprised if it turns out even than this note suggests.”

Vinous (N. Martin - January 2020): 93+/100 "The 2016 Pichon Baron has a powerful, menthol-scented bouquet that almost overwhelms the senses. This comes across richer than its peers, almost heady in style. The palate is medium-bodied with thick tannins, layers of rich black fruit laced with pencil lead and a dash of white pepper. An extravagant Pauillac with an uncharacteristically hedonistic finish. Superb, but I have had better bottles."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2020): 96/100 "The 2010 Pichon-Baron is simply one of the greatest wines produced under Christian Seely's tenure. It has a stunning bouquet with penetrating black fruit, wilted violet and a touch of sea spray, a distinctive marine note verging on shucked oyster shells. The palate is very well balanced with fine grain tannins, layers pf graphite infused black fruit and a very detailed, captivating finish. Brilliant."

Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 98/100 “The 2023 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is pure class. Vertical, deep and explosive, the 2023 is one of the stars of the vintage. Readers will find a vertical, soaring Pichon Comtesse. The 2023 is one of the most refined wines I can remember tasting here in many years. Lavender, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and mocha are some of the notes that build with some time in the glass. The 2023 is not an especially showy Pichon Comtesse, but rather a wine that needs time to blossom.”

J-M Quarin (March 2026): 97/100 "Dark, intense, beautiful colour. Intense, refined, fruity, pure and subtle nose. Hints of vanilla and brown sugar when swirled in the glass. Reminiscent of Margaux. Meticulous on the palate, very flavourful in the middle, with a noble touch and an ascending flavour between the middle and the finish, the wine rises slowly, complex, ending long on the aroma, only the aroma, not the tannin. Lots of sparkle. It's superb."

Martin - February 2026): 96/100 "The 2023 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has a classic aromatic profile for the Pauillac estate, with plenty of blackberry and blueberry fruit, just a hint of white flowers and pencil box. Open and welcoming, even at this stage. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins that lend this Pauillac a malleable and very seductive mouthfeel. Finely judged acidity, very harmonious, with veins of graphite running through the finish and a cedar-tinged aftertaste. Utterly delightful."

La Revue du Vin de France (2024 Guide) : 99/100 "Pure class! This 2020 unfurls a subtle, silky, meticulous texture, with vibrant berry notes and an absolute delicacy in its mouthfeel. Velvety tannins bring supreme refinement to the finish."

Vinous (Neal Martin - November 2024) : 99/100 and #3 of the Top 100 wines of 2024 "The 2020 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has one of the more opulent aromatic profiles amongst the flight of Pauillac wines, displaying black cherries, cassis, graphite and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins and a silver bead of acidity. Silky smooth in texture, this retains impressive composure toward the finish, handling the weight of fruit with class. It imroves with each swirl, though the bottle I tasted just after bottling had a touch more precision. Nevertheless, this a fabulous Pauillac that flirts with perfection."

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2023): 97/100 “The big Cabernets (Sauvignon and Franc) provide the backbone to the wine. On the palate, the wine is precise but not austere, with the usual velvety finish."

Vinous (N. Martin - January 2023): 98/100 “The 2019 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande demands more coaxing from the glass, but it rewards patience with compelling graphite-infused black fruit, unapologetically classic in style, the terroir flooding through. The palate is medium-bodied with wonderful sapidity, gorgeous balance and a pure yet powerful finish that makes you wish you could build a time machine and taste it in 20 years. Sublime.”
