Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 91+/100 “The 2023 Couhins Blanc is a potent dry white. It offers plenty of textural depth but is also a bit reduced. I find the aromatics a touch muddled, the wine's considerable power notwithstanding."

Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2023): 93/100 “The 2021 Couhins Blanc turned out beautifully. Bright and focused, the 2021 possesses tons of verve that gives the wine its distinctive character. Lemon peel, sage, mint, crushed rocks and slate all race out of the glass. This is impeccably done."

Martin - February 2026): 92/100 "The 2023 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a stern bouquet that takes time to open in the glass, light sea spray scents, quite malic but this is very well defined. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, a lovely resinous texture, plenty of extract here that is commendable for a second wine. Doubtless great value given the quality."

La Revue du Vin de France (September 2022): 92/100 “An original, accomplished style, far from varietal. The flavor of this wine, in which Sauvignon is in the majority, is subtly praline-like while remaining fresh and vibrant. The softness of the flesh is very welcoming. The wine has evolved well over the past year, showing no signs of fatigue”.

There's a touch of reduction, but it works well here. Passion fruit, apricot, tangerine oil and a kiss of French oak lend an exotic flair. This is so distinctive.”

J-M Quarin (March 2026): 93/100 "Pale colour. Intense and subtle nose. Ripe fruit. Delicate on the attack, with a slightly smoky and very fruity aroma, the wine melts on the palate, pleasant and long. Dynamic overall with well-integrated oak. It's very good."

La Revue du Vin de France (2026 Guide): 90/100 "The great wine of 2023 seems less brilliant than when first released; a little stuck in reduction, it nevertheless offers beautiful density and a definite presence that encourages us to wait for a more expressive phase."

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2025) : 93/100 Coup de ♥ “Latour-Martillac blanc 2021 shows an otherwise more nuanced and profound character. Distinguished, with no vinification or ageing signature, it unfurls a very fine shape on the palate, with acidity that is never sharp, enveloped by the elegant flesh of the estate's Semillon grapes (43% of the blend). The restrained elegance of the finish is to be commended. It will age very well.”.

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 92/100 "The 2023 white is perfectly in keeping with the style of this cuvée, which is emblematic not only of the estate but also of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. A harmoniously balanced wine, mature and suitable for ageing, in which the texture and richness of the Sémillon perfectly complement the fruitiness of the Sauvignon, which does not impose a garish varietal character here."

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2024 ): 89/100 "The 2021 Carbonnieux white currently shows a slight reduction, with a herbaceous note (dill) also evident among the white flowers evoked by the nose. The texture is light but fine and lively, benefiting from the freshness of the vintage."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 91/100 "The 2023 Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Blanc Sec has a clean and fresh bouquet, touches of cooking apple, pear and apple blossom. Fine delineation. The palate is well-balanced with an oily texture, lightly spiced and a little Roussanne-like toward the very textural finish, with a touch of lanolin on the aftertaste."

Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2026): 95/100 "The 2023 Grand Vin Blanc Sec Vieilles Vignes is bright, tense and wonderfully focused. Citrus peel, chalk, mint, white pepper, and chamomile bristle with tension. All the elements are so well balanced. There's a feeling of transparency in the 2023 that I find incredibly alluring."

The palate is balanced, with a touch of almond and white peach on the entry. A keen line of acidity, plenty of energy and "bite" on the finish make this a very delicious dry white Sémillon that should age well in bottle."

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2024): 93/100 “Pure Semillon, Asphodèle 2019, is undeniably one of the most original and interesting propositions among the new wave of dry white wines produced in the Sauternes area. It develops with great charm notes of fresh hazelnut, as well as a florality suggesting up to violet, over the course of a lively body.”

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2023): 90/100 "The 2019 Asphodèle de Climens has a pretty green apple and Anjou pear nose, well-defined with good intensity. The palate is well-balanced with a crisp gooseberry and nettle entry, touches of white tea and quite a complex finish. Very fine if early drinking."

J-M Quarin (March 2026): 93/100 "Pale yellow colour. Intense, fruity and sweet nose, developing somewhat discreetly when swirled, but with ripe fruitiness. Meticulous on the palate, very fruity in the middle, with a rich woody background, the wine develops fragrant, pleasant and mellow flavours, unfolding slowly. A beautiful finish that is difficult to spit out."

Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 93/100 "The 2023 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc has one of the best aromatics among the white Pessac wines this year, with green apple, freshly sliced pear and subtle crushed stone aromas. The palate is well balanced with finely balanced, lovely weight and purity, with hints of rose water tincturing the lightly spiced, tropical-tinged fruit. Very nuanced, yet very delicious."

Vinous (N. Martin - January 2023): 91+/100 “The 2019 Valandraud Blanc has quite a generous nose, creamy new oak combining nicely with the slightly nutty yellow fruit. The palate is well-balanced with a powerful entry, rounded, quite spicy with just a touch of heat on the finish that just gives it a kick. Very fine, but I encountered superior bottles in the past".

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026): 95/100 "It imposes a powerful and original personality from the nose, with lots of nuance and a distinguished reductive touch. Fresh mint enlivens the fruit at the heart of a palate that is both full and invigorating, rich yet dynamic, with perfect balance. Already clearly distinguished, this wine cultivates an original style without being exuberant or fanciful."

Vinous (A.Galloni-December 2023): 96/100 “The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is a dense, powerful dry white. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2021 is going to need quite a bit of time to be at its best. Today, the wine's textural intensity and some oak are front and center. The 2021 is a Blanc of substance and real character. I can't wait to see how it ages.”

Vinous (N.Martin-November 2023): 95/100 “The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was one of the best wines that I tasted, white or red, during en primeur. Now in bottle, it has a captivating bouquet of mineral-rich citrus fruit that represents one of the most complex I have encountered in any vintage. The palate is well-balanced with a beautiful line of acidity and a slightly resinous texture, very complex and intense on the finish that lingers in the mouth. What a fabulous dry white Bordeaux this will become.”

Vinous (A.Galloni - March 2021): 95/100 “The 2018 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has com together beautifully over the last two years. Rich and unctuous in feel, the 2018 offers terrific nuance to match its creamy, enveloping personality. Dried pear, marzipan, lemon confit and white flowers all build as the 2018 blossoms in the glass. The poised, deeply resonant finish is striking. I am so impressed with the 2018, a wine that is far more convincing in bottle than it was from barrel. ”

J-M Quarin (October 2020): 95/100 “Ample from the attack, juicy in the mid-palate and above all very tasty, the wine develops on a fat touch. The finish is complex, long and sappy. It's superb.”

Its 2022 vintage, full-bodied, intense, discreetly woody and less smoky than previous vintages, will rank among the greatest Bordeaux whites of the decade. Here are some comments from the press:

Vinous (A. Galloni - January 2025): 95/100 "The 2022 Pape Clément Blanc is rich, layered and so inviting. Tangerine peel, pineapple, tropical fruit, mint and exotic floral notes fill out the layers. Light tropical inflections suggest a certain amount of richness, but in the end, the 2022 is airy and very nicely lifted. All the elements are so well balanced."

J-M Quarin (February 2025): 94/100 "Pale yellow colour. Intense nose with very ripe fruit. Incredibly aromatic on the palate, giving it great charm and a unique character. The wine melts in the finish, long and very good."

Martin - February 2026): 93/100 "The 2023 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is clean and precise on the nose, very focused and tensile, scents of clementine, freshly cut fennel, hints of lanolin in the background. The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity, impressive tension and more complexity than many of its peers. Again, there is a touch of spice on the finish, with lemongrass and stem ginger waiting patiently in the background. Very classy."

La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026): 91/100 "Smith Haut Lafitte goes far in terms of the sweetness and maturity of the fruit. Its flamboyant style seems to be further accentuated by the character of the vintage. The exotic flavour, suggesting passion fruit and pineapple with a hint of coconut milk, echoes a velvety, even languid texture! Slightly overwhelmed by its alcoholic richness, a corollary of its generosity, the wine nevertheless displays poise and authority, expressed through a long finish of flavours with a hint of bitterness."

Vinous (N. Martin - January 2025): 96/100 "The 2022 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is superb. What a wine. Rich, ample and creamy, with striking balance, the 2022 dazzles from start to finish. Ripe pear, tangerine peel, chamomile, mint and a kiss of spice all meld together in a stunning Blanc that belies the warm, dry year. Plush, generous contours wrap it all togaether in style. The blance here is magnificent."

J-M Quarin (February 2025): 97/100 "Pale yellow colour. Very aromatic nose, fine, with ripe fruit, developing superbly when the glass is shaken. Floral and buttery nuances. Hints of liquorice and even chardonnay. Once again, the tactile grace of this wine sweeps the palate away and shatters any attempt to describe it, as it melts, perfumes and stretches out long, delicate, powerful and airy all at once. Enjoy it now!"

Vinous (A. Galloni - February 2023): 95/100 "The 2020 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is superb. Élevage has done wonders in lending energy and brilliance. The 2020 shows the soft curves of the warm vintage, but it has tons of energy, too. That makes for an aboslutely brilliant, compelling white that delivers on so many levels. The 2020 offers enough approachability to drink well now, but also the energy to develop well in bottle for many years to come."

J-M Quarin (March 2023): 97/100 "Yellow color with green highlights. Intense, fine, fruity and pure nose. A touch of truffle when the glass is shaken. Extremely meticulous on entry, very aromatic in the middle, with a delicate port and a touch of candied orange, the wine glides across the palate on a melting body. Very hedonistic, it evolves powerfully towards a long, delicate and noble finish. Superb!"

The 2022 vintage in the press:

Vinous (A. Galloni - January 2025): 94/100 "The 2022 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is a blend of 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Sémillon. Rich and creamy on the palate, the 2022 Cos Blanc offers up a striking mix of orchard fruit, chamomile, tangerine oin, mint and spice. Vinification and aging in barrel emphasizes the wine's inherent oiliness and weight. This is a serious, structured white for the dinner table."

J.M Quarin (February 2025): 94/100 "Light yellow colour with green highlights. The nose is moderately aromatic, fruity and very reduced. Fat on the attack, juicy in the middle, delicious, the wine melts on the palate. It has a long, nervous, fresh finish with a nice spicy aftertaste." 

As the Revue du Vin de France pointed out during the Primeurs tastings, the 2021 vintage is "one of the most accomplished in its history".

Low yields in 2021 created a white that is deep, layered and quite potent in feel. Tangerine peel, citrus confit, marzipan and a touch of new oak give the 2021 a decidedly flamboyant, extroverted personality."
