Labégorce was born of the merger of Châteaux Labégorce and Labégorce-Zédé, brought together under a single entity by the Perrodo family (Tour de Mons, Marquis d'Alesme). Since 1989, every effort has been made to produce a Margaux that is harmonious, charming and brilliantly fruity.
La Revue du Vin de France : 92-94/100 “The wine is remarkably vibrant and fresh. Following in the footsteps of its sibling, the Marquis d’Alesme, we can detect a slight shift towards a more indulgent and refined style.”
Vinous (N. Martin): 92-94/100 “The 2025 Labégorce [...] has a refined bouquet with pure blackberry, raspberry and cedar scents, the oak supremely well integrated. There is a delicacy about the aromatics that I like and I suspect that they will gain intensity during élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, albeit slightly firmer when retasted at the château, a keen line of acidity, quite vibrant and very harmonious, a subtle crescendo towards the sapid, verging upon briny finish whilst keeping Margaux's elegant style. Excellent."
Vinous (A. Galloni): 92-94/100 “The 2025 Labégorce exudes power and depth right out of the gate. Dark cherry/plum fruit, licorice, new leather, plum and chocolate hit the palate first, followed by swaths of tannin that shape the mid-palate and finish. This is a particularly fine Labégorce. I especially admire its energy."
J-M Quarin: 92/100 “A deep, intense colour with purple hues. An intense nose with ripe fruit. Meticulously crafted on the attack, very aromatic on the mid-palate, with a rich texture across the palate and plenty of flavour; the wine melts on the finish. It finishes long, succulent and fragrant. It is very good.”
