Son style ne se dément pas, il est opulent, un sauvignon très mûr, aux touches confites évoquant le melon, la pêche rôtie ou encore la crème frangipane. Gras et allonge superlatifs, avec un caractère indéniablement solaire mais recadré par l’intéressante tension acide du millésime. La finale marque son passage par une impression d’extrait sec. »

Vis à vis des deux autres vins blancs de la propriété, le toucher est ici cristallin et le déroulé y gagne une grâce captivante. Le vin évolue savoureux avec cette année dans les derniers instants un petit manque d'envolée dans l'ultime persistance, même si c'est très bon.  »
Galloni : 94-96/100 « The 2023 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is quite the extrovert. Apricot, passion fruit, mint, tangerine peel and pineapple all soar out of the glass. Medium in body, with gorgeous texture, the 2023 is quite showy. I imagine it will drink well with minimal cellaring. »
Martin : 95-97/100 « The 2023 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc has a reticent bouquet at first, requiring a few swirls of the glass to reveal touches of orange pith, peach skin, wild fennel and light pressed white flower scents. The palate is very well balanced with a lovely creamy texture, counterbalanced by the taut line of acidity. Very poised and focused, it's somehow almost Corton-Charlemagne-inspired on the finish (perhaps due to the umami). This is a seriously fine white Pessac-Léognan. »

Bettane & Desseauve : 95/100 « Vinifié dans la nouvelle cuverie, essentiellement dans les cuves ciment. Matière savoureuse et riche en pulpe, équilibre distingué. La finale florale a de la classe. »
Quarin : 94/100 « Couleur noire, aux reflets vifs. Nez intense, pur, fruité, mûr et subtil. Nuances fraîches d'encre, de fleurs et de fruits noirs à l'agitation du verre. Délicat en entrée de bouche, savoureux au milieu, le vin caresse le palais sur un profil très allongé. Il s'achève séveux, sur une belle finale aromatique fraîche. A cet instant, il m'a manqué un peu de corps, mais c'est très bon. »
Galloni : 94-96/100 « The 2023 L'If is unusually floral and refined for a wine that has, in the past, been darker and more ample in structure. Cedar, tobacco, crushed flowers and mint add lift and aromatic presence. Silky tannins create an impression of finesse. The 2023 represents the first year of vinification in the new cellar outfitted with cement vats. Overall, though, this wine feels like a new chapter for L'If. The vibrancy and energy here are palpable. Tasted two times. »
Martin : 93-95/100 « It has quite an exuberant bouquet with ripe red cherry and wild strawberry fruit, a hint of blood orange and iris flower. It is very focused and beautifully defined, the limestone terroir percolating through. The palate is medium-bodied with the Cabernet Franc shaping the entry-a little peppery in style. The tannins are quite strict at the moment [...], framing the dark berry and graphite-tinged fruit. Linear toward the finish, reflecting the slightly cooler growing season, this is a very fine, cerebral L'If. »

Revue du Vin de France : 95-96/100 « Il convient particulièrement bien à Clinet, car il s’appuie sur la qualité de son parcellaire tout en gardant la richesse et l’onctuosité propre au château. Mais il faut souligner la plus haute proportion de cabernet-sauvignon (25 %) qui étire la matière riche et dense, entremêlant une fraîcheur vive et salivante. [...]  Voilà un joli Clinet dans l’air du temps. »

Galloni : 94-96/100 « The 2023 Clinet is powerful and racy right out of the gate. Crushed flowers, spice, mocha and a kiss of French oak meld into a core of dark red- and black-toned fruit. This modern, stylish Pomerol is so expressive. Hints of graphite, lavender, crushed rocks and pencil shavings linger on the substantial finish. »
Martin : 93-95/100 « The 2023 Clinet  has a very appealing bouquet, quite pure with vivacious red cherries, crushed strawberry and violet scents. The oak is neatly integrated. This is almost Saint-Émilion in style. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a fine bead of acidity, lightly spiced with a crisp and linear finish. This is a delightful, composed Clinet that should drink well after four to five years. »

Le vin tombe admirablement en bouche, avec le raffinement de tanins qui fait le succès de Calon Ségur. »

Quarin : 95/100 « Nez intense, au fruité mûr, subtil, évoluant crémeux dans le verre et complexe. Minutieux en entrée de bouche, très aromatique au milieu, avec un toucher fin, le vin glisse sur le palais, juteux et profond dans ses saveurs. Cependant en finale, le vin m'a manqué un peu d'appui. »
Galloni : 94-96/100 « The 2023 Calon Ségur is a wine for readers who can be patient. In many recent years, Calon Ségur has been quite showy, but this is not one of them. Bold acids and huge tannins dominate at this stage. Bright red-toned fruit is a signature, but the 2023 is a powerful, young Calon Ségur that will clearly need time to come together. »
Martin : 90-92/100 « The palate is medium-bodied with impressive grip on the entry-quite fresh, with a subtle marine tincture and a touch of Japanese nori in the background. It gently fans out on the finish, but it remains controlled and especially linear for Calon-Ségur, perhaps less swayed by the Merlot (15% of the blend). Classy. »

Quarin : 92/100 « Couleur sombre et intense. Nez très aromatique, au fruité pur, subtil et mûr. Bouche tout en arrondi et en suavité délicieuse. En plus, elle devient parfumée dans la seconde partie du palais, accompagnée d'une touche fine de réglisse et de bois neuf. Vin très hédoniste. »
Galloni : 91-93/100 « The 2023 Le Marquis de Calon Ségur is a bright, beautifully focused wine. Graphite, lavender, mocha, chocolate, incense, licorice and crushed rocks all run through this gorgeous, wonderfully inviting Saint-Estèphe. This is an especially serious Le Marquis, perhaps because of the inclusion of some Merlot lots that usually go into the Grand Vin. In this tasting, I find the aromatic presence and structure of the Cabernet highly expressive and very much in the foreground. What a gorgeous wine this is. »
Martin : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Le Marquis de Calon Ségur represents has a composed bouquet with raspberry, blackberry, cedar and light tertiary scents. I appreciate the Saint-Estèphe DNA in its aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and fresh acidity, more complexity than the Capbern that precedes its and more substance on the finish. This is a very commendable second wine. »

Galloni : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Sarget de Gruaud Larose is a pretty serious second wine. Succulent dark cherry, plum, licorice, spice and mocha are all front and center. The presence of the fruit here is alluring. Soft, plush contours wrap it all together in style. I very much like the depth here. »
Martin : 86-88/100 « The nose is quite "punchy" for a Deuxième Vin, with plenty of black cherries, iodine and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a structured, slightly chewy entry, licorice-infused black fruit and firm grip; there is a bullishness about this Sarget, so afford it a couple of years before pulling the cork. »

Galloni : 90-93/100 « The 2023 Pavillon Rouge is a deep, intense wine. Bright acids drive a core of dark red-toned fruit, spice and flowers. There's a bit more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, which makes structural elements stand out, but the tannins are on the lower side analytically. I would give this a few years to come together. »
Martin : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Pavillon Rouge has a very pure and floral bouquet, with crushed violets and blue fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins and moderate depth, quite linear and structured in style with white pepper and a touch of brine on the saline finish. There's good length, even if it's missing the amplitude of the previous vintage. »

Minutieux en entrée de bouche, puis de suite délicatement gras, avec de la classe dans le toucher et un fond de saveurs complexes, tout à la fois minutieux, distingué et profond, le vin file lentement en finale, constant dans son déroulé, pur et noble. C'est superbe. C'est Canon ! »
Galloni : 94-96/100 « A wine of classicism and reserve, the 2023 Canon is less overtly expressive than most recent vintages, keeping much of its personality in reserve. Nevertheless, I watched it grow considerably over the two weeks I spent in Bordeaux. Bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, mint and spice are some of the many notes that open in the glass. It is a wine that marries generous fruit with classical rigor. I won't be surprised if it shows even better with time.  »
Martin : 94-96/100 « The 2023 Canon has a perfumed bouquet with pure black cherries and touches of cassis and violet. The oak is beautifully integrated. Perhaps if I have to quibble, it is not quite as complex as the very best recent vintages, but that's a high bar nowadays. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black cherry fruit laced with iodine, and veins of blue fruit. There is a sorbet-like freshness embroidered throughout this Canon, and it delivers a lovely cracked black pepper note on the finish. Excellent. Again. »

Revue du Vin de France : 96-97/100 « Encore un Pichon qui s’inscrit dans la longue lignée des très belles réussites. Il est d’ailleurs extrêmement classique dans sa forme. Tenu par des cabernets séveux et structurants, il déploie une très grande allonge, avec des tanins racés et finement enrobés. Nul doute qu’il ira très loin. »

Dark and enveloping, with terrific freshness, this Grand Vin is so expressive. The 2023 is an understated, wonderfully refined Pichon Baron. Dark fruit, violet and mocha build into the resonant finish. »
Martin : 94-96/100 « The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins that frame the graphite-infused black fruit. It's very focused, fresh and quite sapid in the mouth, with a subtle strictness that codifies this as Pichon Baron. The 2023 is a quintessential Pauillac that will age gracefully over the next 30 or 40 years. It reminds me a little of the 2019. Classic "P.B." »

Galloni : 92-94/100 « The 2023 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron is superb. Silky, elegant and wonderfully refined, the Griffons is all class, all the way. I admire its mid-weight structure and polished feel. All the elements are so nicely balanced. Plum, blood orange, cinnamon and rose petal linger effortlessly. »
Martin : 91-93/100 « The 2023 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron  has a seductive, creamy nose, displaying blackberries and cassis fruit with touches of crushed violet and orange blossom. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins on the entry, a very pretty Les Griffons with white pepper and a dab of lemon rind that lends tension on the finish. This is not a powerful Pauillac, but it is flush with charm. »

Martin : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Pibran, raised in 60% new oak, has a ravishing bouquet in the context of the growing season, reflective of the summer warmth, yet managing to retain freshness and delineation. Touches of blood orange inflect the red berry fruit profile. The palate is medium-bodied with marmalade-tinged red fruit. It's more open than recent vintages, with a dash cracked black pepper defining the finish.»

Revue du Vin de France : 96-98/100 « La puissance du vin saisit le dégustateur, on manque même de mots pour couvrir toute sa diversité de parfums (fleurs capiteuses, tombée de fruits noirs, terre humide…) et son jeu de texture, à la fois dense et délicate, le tout dynamisé par une énergie envoûtante et une salinité fine. Harmonieux, veiné d’une délicate acidité et de tanins étirés, il aura une carrière en cave d’au moins trente ans. »

Time in the glass helps this open a bit, but the 2023 is a wine of reserve-a wine that is not showing all its cards. Gravel, incense, tobacco, dried herbs and mocha open with some coaxing. This will be stellar in time. »
Martin : 98/100 « The 2023 L'Eglise-Clinet  has a stunning bouquet with enthralling delineation and focus, very intense with blackberries, raspberry, crushed stone, Earl Grey and a touch of blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins and a dash of cracked black pepper. It's very harmonious and fans out brilliantly on the finish. It is surely going to vie with the stupendous 2022, and this ranks as one of the best wines of the vintage. »

The palate is wonderful, certainly more complex and mineral-driven than the La Chenade, possessing gentle grip and perfectly pitched acidity. it fans out with chutzpah on the peppery finish. Cedar, tobacco and dried herbs add an attractive savory/floral character, while bright acids that pull it all together on the close. This is beautifully done. »
Martin : 89-91/100 « The 2023 La Chenade is  quite intense, although perhaps missing amplitude usually bestowed by the Cabernet Franc. The palate is medium-bodied with a lovely texture and a keen line of acidity, lightly spiced with gentle grip on the slightly savory finish. Very satisfying in the mouth, this is a sensual La Chenade that will provide for delicious early drinking. »

Galloni : 91-93/100 « The 2023 Montlandrie is a rich, expansive wine. In 2023, the blend includes more Cabernet Sauvignon than in the past, and that comes through in the wine's textural breadth. Succulent dark plum, crème de cassis, lavender, spice, leather, tobacco, incense and dried herbs build effortlessly in the glass, culminating in a broad, resonant finish that is quite striking. This Montlandrie is such a gorgeous and complete wine. »
Martin : 92-94/100 « The 2023 Montlandrie has a different aromatic profile than previous vintages: black cherries, cedar and pencil shavings, very focused, more Left-Bank-meets-Right-Bank in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It's beautifully structured and judiciously spiced with gentle grip on the finish. Together with Les Cruzelles, these wines represent outstanding value for money. This will certainly age well in bottle. »

There is just a touch of balsamic that perks up the finish, while graphite notes join the chorus line toward the close. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly edgy tannins that impart tension, veering slightly more to black fruit on the mid-palate. This is certainly one of the most elegant Branaire-Ducru vintages to date, but it has more weight on the finish. »

In 2023, Pichon Comtesse blends Merlot picked early for freshness and Cabernets picked later for tannin ripeness and flavor complexity. Readers will have to be patient, but the 2023 holds considerable promise for those who can wait. »

The palate is very refined on the entry. This is armed with beguiling symmetry—poised yet intense on the finish. This is the first vintage in which Cabernet Sauvignon drives the blend, the result of extensive replanting over the years and vines that are now old enough to be used here. Among other things, that means the Réserve is more closely aligned with the Grand Vin in style, starting in the vineyard. Potent and explosive, the 2023 offers up a heady mélange of dark fruit, leather, spice, grilled herbs and lavender. It's a stellar wine in every way. »
Martin : 90-92/100 « The 2023 Réserve de la Comtesse has a lovely bouquet, discrete initially, then opening with cassis and light violet fruit. It never shouts too loudly at this early stage. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins on the entry. There's also a stronger graphite element than I have noticed in recent vintages, due to the higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%). This is a classically styled Réserve. »

Haut- Bergey is one of the major sleepers of 2023. Tasted three times. »
Martin : 78-81/100 « The 2023 Haut-Bergey shows improvement on the nose compared to previous years insofar that there are no signs of greenness. Maybe it just lacks a bit of energy and presence. So far, so acceptable. Then, the wheels come off with a bitter, vegetal mid-palate that evidences fruit that failed to reach full ripeness. »

A finish with layers of blackcurrant and blueberry fruit with a liberal sprinkling of black pepper complete a fine and quite Rubenesque Saint-Émilion. »
