It is François Chidaine who, since 1989, has sounded the awakening of the wines of Touraine and given the white Chenin its letters of nobility. Biodynamic since 1999, his wines have a crystalline purity and a vibrancy that have set a standard... with prices that are just as exemplary. After several vintages ruined by frost or hail from 2013 to 2016, we find Domaine Chidaine in great shape since 2017. Rated three stars in the guide of the Revue du Vin de France.
Under the appellation Vin de France are hidden the Vouvray wines of Domaine Chidaine (Les Argiles, Baudoin). They can no longer claim the Vouvray appellation since 2011 because they are vinified at the estate in Montlouis-sur-Loire (i.e. on the other side of the bridge that spans the Loire) and not in the commune of Vouvray. The INAO has reasons that reason does not know!

A new generation of winegrowers is waking Cahors up. Rustic wines with coarse tannins are a thing of the past. Make way for digestible, tasty, fruity and velvety malbecs. The duo Matthieu Cosse (the oenologist) / Catherine Maisonneuve (the winegrower) is part of this new Cadurian elite, with a magnificent range of wines where purity, precision and elegance prevail. "Transcending the boundaries of its appellation, the estate is one of the best in France" for Mr. Bettane.
Rated two stars in the Revue du Vin de France guide.
Supple on the palate, beautiful freshness, tannins not very marked, La Fage is a Cahors that is greedy, pleasant and joyful.
Rated 93/100 by the Revue du Vin de France « C'est le malbec bien élevé qui donne le "la" à une chair précise, d'une perfection formelle. Avec sa pointe de cuir et son fruit glorieux, il est d'une séduction classique. » (Feb. 2021)

Cahors de caractère, Les Laquets is long and racy, with a persistent finish (cedar and black fruits), perfectly balanced by a fine and precise maturing. Perfect representation of the Cossse/ Maisonneuve style.

La Marguerite is the prestigious cuvée of the Domaine, coming from a 2.5 hectare plot on the famous siderolithic terroir (clay-limestone mixed with reddish iron deposits). A wine of great potential where minerality vies with intensity. Splendid!

Sidérolithe is the 100% cabernet franc counterpart (on iron clay) of their other cuvée Marguerite which is 100% malbec. Its aromas of raspberry and violet and its velvety texture are immediately reminiscent of Pomerol.
Located in Gelos, this small estate (2 ha on the top of a hill facing the Pyrenees) is the most oriental of the Jurançon appellation. Replanted in 2005 and immediately converted to organic farming, Sarros proves with its dry whites that manseng (small or large) is indeed one of the greatest French white grape varieties. These frank, vibrant wines are a credit to the appellation and offer unrivalled value for money.
La Contrée is a blend of gros manseng, lauzet and petit manseng. A lively, even nervous wine, with a fresh nose divided between white flowers, lemon verbena and citrus fruits.

"La Vallée Heureuse" is composed of 100% small manseng. The characteristic aromas of the grape variety (pineapple and peach) are revealed behind the hazelnut notes brought by the maturing process. A harmonious gastronomic wine, with a long and delicate finish.
