Coming from 3 grands crus and 2 premiers crus, elaborated only from the first press juices, vinified in tuns, unfiltered and hardly dosed (1.5 gr/l for Cuvée n°747), the 700 cuvées are great Champagne wines offering a remarkable ageing potential.
The number corresponds to the vintage on the basis of which the cuvée is elaborated (2019 for Cuvée 747) completed with some reserve wines.
Since January 2023, the Maison Jacquesson belongs to Mr. Pinault (Latour in Bordeaux, Clos de Tart in Burgundy, Château-Grillet in the Rhône, etc.).

Cuvée “747” in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2025): 95/100 Coup de ♥ “Cuvée N°747 seduces us with its depth: right from its youth, the wine displays perfect maturity, brilliance and uprightness. Vinous (A. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I especially admire the textural depth here. Spring frost was particulary damaging to the chardonnay, so the blend is distinctly Pinot-leaning in this release. Dosage is 1.5 grams per liter."

Cuvée “N° 746” in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (December 2023): 92/100 “Patinated nose, with perceptible but integrated and elegant wood ageing, and the enveloping ripeness of its base year, 2018. The palate is vinous and digestible, with luscious length and salinity to spare. Low dosage (2 g) for a ripe, dynamic, deep and stretched ensemble [...] A complex champagne, with autumnal allure, that calls for the table."
Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 91/100 “The NV Extra Brut Cuvée No. 746 (2018 base) is bright and energetic. Chardonnay drives the blend, but that is not especially evident. Kirsch, plum, spice, cedar, dried flowers and a kick of candied orange peel unfold in the glass, while tropical accents and a hint of spice linger. Best of all, the 746 will drink well upon release. The airy, lighter style is all charm. The blend is 56% Chardonnay, 24% Pinot Meunier and 20 % Pinot Noir, with 25% reserve wines. Dosage is 2 grams per liter."

Cuvée "742 DT" in the reviews:
La Revue du Vin de France (Décember 2024) : 94/100 « A 2014 base aged for... 94 months on lees! The characteristic fresh lemon note bursts forth. More lanky than thick in this vintage. A formidable allonge sculpted with great freshness and a complex patina. »
Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 93/100 “The NV Extra Brut Cuvée No. 742 Dégorgement Tardif (2014 base) is another terrific wine from Jacquesson. Now at its forst plateau of maturity, this is an exotic beauty. Kirsch, ginger, spice, menthol, licorice and dried herbs build nicely. There's gorgeous depth and resonnce here. Even so, my impression is that the 742 is a wine to drink rather than cellar, and a fine choice for readers who enjoy mature Champagnes. Dosage is 0.5 grams per liter."

Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2024): 94/100 “The 2015 Extra Brut Dizy-Terres Rouges Premier Cru is Bright, airy and nicely lifted. It's an especially floral, mid-weight expressio of Pinot Noir. Crushed flowers, dried herbs, spice, cedar and tobacco give the 2015 a strong aromatic presence. Although a bit light, the 2015 is very nicely delineated and also avoids the assertive vegetal notes that afflict so manny wines in this vintage. Bottled with no dosage."
A precise and meticulous worker, Francis Égly is at the top of the Champagne world. With his vineyards magnificently situated in grand cru (pinot noir and chardonnay in Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay) and premier cru (in Vrigny and Bisseuil), he makes wines of prodigious vinosity, intensity and nobility of character, always on the razor's edge between the great ripeness of the grapes and a fine chalky minerality. All his vintages are vinified in wood, without malolactic fermentation. The critics are enthusiastic, such as M. Bettane, who says that "Égly-Ouriet sets the tone for all Champagne viticulture with vintages of staggering depth". Starting with the admirable flagship Brut Grand Cru, barely dosed (1g/l), slender and rich, with hints of iodine accompanying a fine bitterness.
Égly-Ouriet has been rewarded with its fourth star in the Revue du Vin de France's 2025 guide.
Created in 2020, the new cuvée "Les Prémices" is a blend, in equal parts, of chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot noir. A perfect entry-level wine, fresh and elegant.

The Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs comes from an old Pinot Noir vineyard, planted in 1946. The vines are deeply rooted in the chalk (the locality is called "Les Crayères"), which is only 30 cm above ground level.
The Cuvée "Les Crayères Blanc de Noirs" in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 99/100 Coup de ♥ "What can be said about the Crayères, other than that it displays a rare complexity: oriental spices, citrus peel, saffron, dried hay... Maison Roederer has been regaining its lustre since 2010, under the guidance of its excellent cellar master Mr. Lecaillon, a firm believer in permaculture and agroforestry who in 2018 put half (120 ha) of the vineyard into organic conversion. The House's style is now oriented towards straightforwardness and salinity, refined and uncluttered wines.
The range begins with the cuvée Collection, as much an aperitif champagne as a meal wine, thanks to the addition of reserve wines. Then come three vintages (Brut, Rosé and Blanc de Blancs) to conclude with Cristal, their world-famous flagship cuvée.
Collection is a multi-vintage blend, dominated by chardonnay (40%) and pinots noir and meunier. Collection n°243 is built around the 2018 harvest (59%), blended with 41% reserve wines from vintages 2009 to 2017.
The cuvée ‘Collection n°243’ in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni - November 2022): 93/100 "The NV Collection 243 is bright, punchy and wonderfully effusive, the 243 really shows the more vibrant style Roederer is going for with their new entry-level NV bottling. Citrus peel white, flowers, mint, slate and a host of saline notes build nicely. This is impressive, to say the least."

A glass of the NVV Collection 244 sets the mood.Collection is a new Champagne from Roederer, essentially the former Brut Premier reinterpreted with a focus on freshness and verve. Those qualities come alive in the glass. Brisk acids cut through a core of orchard fruit, chamomile and crushed rocks. What a beautiful and expressive wine this is.”
La Revue du Vin de France (December 2023): 91-92/100 “Fine, precise, defined nose on delicate brioche. Ample, tasty and dynamic on the palate. Great elegance of bubbles and velvety mousse. The contribution of the 36% perpetual reserve and the 10% reserve wines aged in wood adds depth and patina. A long, saline finish for this energetic, smooth and very sapid wine. Brut Nature is a new transversal cuvée, produced only in great years, where purity (zero dosage) and generosity (pinot noir dominance) are the watchwords.
The cuvée ‘Brut nature’ vintage 2012 in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2019): 94/100 "The 2012 Brut Nature is rich, powerful and incredibly expressive. It is also the most complete Brut Nature Roederer has made, as it has less of the austerity of previous releases and more creaminess. Powerful and yet gracious, the 2012 has so much to offer. Dried flowers, chamomile, dried pear and mint are all laced throughout this sublime, wonderfully nuanced Champagne. The Brut Nature is a field bend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20 % Meuniertaken from three parcels in Cumières and vinified together."
On a gravelly soil renowned for its whites, Camus vinifies a small production with a Semillon majority (60%, with 40% Sauvignon), grown in vats. A beautiful white Graves, of good volume, expressive, really very pleasant.

The 2021 vintage in the press:

Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2023) : 92/100 “Charmes Godard 2022 is predominantly Semillon in this vintage, with smaller pieces of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris. In 2021, Les Charmes Godard is brighter and more concentrated than in the past. Time in bottle will help release some of its underlying texture.”
Although produced in Lamarque in the heart of Haut-Médoc, this is the most original dry white wine in the Gironde, a blend of gros manseng (as in Jurançon), sauvignon gris (superior to the more common sauvignon blanc), savagnin (as in Jura) and mondeuse blanche (as in Savoie). All this gives a dry white wine with golden reflections, powerful, sapy, fruity, complex and elegant. A special wine!
Continuing a tradition dating back to the early 20th century, Fonréaud (Listrac) produces a confidential white wine on 3 hectares, very dry and tense, just like the Pavillon blanc de Margaux and, like it, an archetype of dry Médoc whites. And with great regularity, as Bettane & Desseauve (Guide 2025) rightly points out, “Cygne de Fonréaud is a great success, always impeccably precise and fresh in every vintage”.

Like its Sauternes Grand Cru Classé neighbors, Climens has been developing a range of dry white wines since 2018, all 100% Semillon. The range begins with Petite Lily, aged 8 months in stainless concrete tanks, an irresistible delicacy endowed with a lovely fatness.
The 2023 vintage in the press:

The palate is balanced, with a touch of almond and white peach on the entry. A keen line of acidity, plenty of energy and "bite" on the finish make this a very delicious dry white Sémillon that should age well in bottle."

Known for its red wine, Château Rollan de By also owns 2 ha of alluvial sands on the Gironde estuary, which were planted with Sauvignon Blanc some 30 years ago with the intention of producing a great Medoc white wine.
The owner, Mr. Guyon, decided to apply to the letter the traditional practices for the elaboration of a neat white wine, in the vineyard (high density of 6500 vines per hectare, 100% grassing, manual harvest in crates...) as well as in the cellar (no fining, no filtration, the wine is only clarified by successive rackings, maturing in French oak barrels...).
But he has also integrated the qualitative precepts of today's oenology: short pre-fermentation maceration, low temperature vinification, stirring of the lees, minimal sulfiting...
In a way, the best of both worlds (ancient and modern) are combined to best express the temperate oceanic climate of the northern tip of the Médoc, ideal for white wines: optimal sunshine, mild temperatures without excess, regular rainfall.
Its 2019 vintage is exciting, with a combination of minty freshness and saline minerality, on a full, creamy and deep palate. The richness that envelops the texture of this wine is reminiscent of Meursault, perhaps that's why it's bottled in a Burgundy bottle?
