Family property of the Dubourdieu family. Always very bouquety and expressive, round with buttered notes, perfect to accompany a cheese platter.
The star of Graves blancs, offering each vintage a very pure and straightforward wine, discreetly woody. It is not surprising to see this regularity in performance, as it is the own property of Florence & Denis Dubourdieu, hence the name of the wine.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 92/100 "The 2023 Clos Floridène Blanc is quite pretty and delicate. Gentle hints of lemon oil, chalk, chamomile, slate, dried herbs and white flowers grace this understated, classy dry white. Floral and mineral notes lift the crystalline finish.”
Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 92/100 “The 2023 Clos Floridene Blanc over-performs, yet again, with a lovely nose with bright, crisp Golden Delicious and Conference pear scents, an underlying mineralité that lends complexity. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that counterbalances the concentration locked into this white from the Dubourdieu family. Great length and given the price... a steal.”
La Revue du Vin de France (December 2025): 92/100 "Immediately apparent from its colour, the 2023 white develops a generous, pure aromatic expression, far from standardisation, suggesting yellow peach and warm biscuit. But above all, it is a wine of substance, whose beautiful maturity is perfectly supported by the freshness of the limestone base."
J-M Quarin (March 2026): 91/100 “Pale color. Intense, fruity, and subtle nose. Delicate on the attack, smooth on the mid-palate, with flavor, the wine stretches out on the finish, fragrant, long, and difficult to spit out.” Outsider

The 2021 vintage in the press:
Vinous (Neal Martin - November 2023): 90/100 “The 2021 Clos floridene Blanc has a commendable bouquet of white-flower-tinged citrus fruit, gaining vigor ine the glass with each swirl. The palate is well-balanced with a tangy entry-mango and persimmon, becoming peachier toward the well-defined finish. This is a delicisous white Pessac that will be difficult to resist in its youth."
Jean-Marc Quarin (February 2024): 90/100
Stéphane Dief, owner of Clos Manou, had long dreamed of producing a great dry white wine on his terroir at the northern tip of the Médoc, a region particularly suited to the slow maturation of white grapes thanks to its eminently temperate climate (bordered to the west by the Atlantic Ocean and to the east by the Gironde estuary). This dream became a reality in 2020 with the creation of Clos Albus in Valeyrac, a 1.85-hectare plot planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. 2023 is its first vintage, with floral aromas (acacia and broom) and a hint of vanilla.
The 2023 vintage is its first, composed of 54% Sauvignon Blanc, 39% Sémillon, and 7% Muscadelle, a magnificent white wine of crystalline purity, sleek and precise, blending floral aromas (acacia and broom) with light vanilla notes (from fermentation and aging on lees in French oak barrels).
Known for its red wine, Château Rollan de By also owns 2 ha of alluvial sands on the Gironde estuary, which were planted with Sauvignon Blanc some 30 years ago with the intention of producing a great Medoc white wine.
The owner, Mr. Guyon, decided to apply to the letter the traditional practices for the elaboration of a neat white wine, in the vineyard (high density of 6500 vines per hectare, 100% grassing, manual harvest in crates...) as well as in the cellar (no fining, no filtration, the wine is only clarified by successive rackings, maturing in French oak barrels...).
But he has also integrated the qualitative precepts of today's oenology: short pre-fermentation maceration, low temperature vinification, stirring of the lees, minimal sulfiting...
In a way, the best of both worlds (ancient and modern) are combined to best express the temperate oceanic climate of the northern tip of the Médoc, ideal for white wines: optimal sunshine, mild temperatures without excess, regular rainfall.
Its 2019 vintage is exciting, with a combination of minty freshness and saline minerality, on a full, creamy and deep palate. The richness that envelops the texture of this wine is reminiscent of Meursault, perhaps that's why it's bottled in a Burgundy bottle?
The dry white wine of Lagrange, in a precise and pleasant style. As always in Lagrange, the quality/price ratio is there!
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 89/100 “The 2023 Les Arums de Lagrange is a fine dry white. Lemon confit, marzipan, dried flowers and mint fill out the layers. Soft and understated, the 2023 offers lovely mid-palate creaminess to match its understated personality.”

This classified growth, owned by INRA, has grown considerably since the Institute's researchers decided to apply the results of their most advanced research to it, and the arrival of Mr Derenoncourt as an advisor. In a rather lively and tense style, Couhins is today by its price the best deal among the white classified growths of Pessac-Léognan.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 91+/100 “The 2023 Couhins Blanc is a potent dry white. It offers plenty of textural depth but is also a bit reduced. I find the aromatics a touch muddled, the wine's considerable power notwithstanding."

The 2020 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A.Galloni - December 2023): 93/100 “The Couhins Blanc 2020, 100% Sauvignon Blanc, is bright, lively and very expressive. White pepper, sage, mint and tomato leaf combine with a core of citrus. I really like the energy of this wine”.
The estate’s second white wine, L’Esprit de Chevalier, is in the same vein as the Grand Vin, practically as lively and invigorating.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 92/100 "The 2023 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a stern bouquet that takes time to open in the glass, light sea spray scents, quite malic but this is very well defined. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, a lovely resinous texture, plenty of extract here that is commendable for a second wine. Doubtless great value given the quality."
A family property reawakened in 2011 by the arrival of the son Paul Garcin, a former rock musician on the Bordeaux scene. Instant passage in organic and biodynamic culture, wines of artist, intuitive, immediately sapid, tasty and with the strong note pleasure, for white wines as for reds. This approach is praised by the Revue du Vin de France: "Modernity of vision and the ability to reinvent itself without betraying its identity: Haut-Bergey symbolizes the current vitality of the most historic of Bordeaux's vineyards".

La Revue du Vin de France (September 2022): 92/100 “An original, accomplished style, far from varietal. The flavor of this wine, in which Sauvignon is in the majority, is subtly praline-like while remaining fresh and vibrant. The softness of the flesh is very welcoming. The wine has evolved well over the past year, showing no signs of fatigue”.

Known for producing a full-bodied, expressive, even exuberant white wine, Larrivet Haut-Brion has gained freshness and tension in recent vintages, thanks to its new vat room incorporating smaller containers (including 20% concrete eggs). Its young director, Charlotte Mignon, has also undertaken a major agroforestry project in the vineyard to promote biodiversity and protect the vines from global warming.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 95/100 “The 2023 Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc is one of the most refined dry whites of the year. Soft, silky and nuanced, the Blanc has so much to offer. There's a touch of reduction, but it works well here. Passion fruit, apricot, tangerine oil and a kiss of French oak lend an exotic flair. This is so distinctive.”
J-M Quarin (March 2026): 93/100 "Pale colour. Intense and subtle nose. Ripe fruit. Delicate on the attack, with a slightly smoky and very fruity aroma, the wine melts on the palate, pleasant and long. Dynamic overall with well-integrated oak. It's very good."
La Revue du Vin de France (2026 Guide): 90/100 "The great wine of 2023 seems less brilliant than when first released; a little stuck in reduction, it nevertheless offers beautiful density and a definite presence that encourages us to wait for a more expressive phase."
Based on Sauvignon (with a hint of Semillon), Caillou Blanc has been presented for 50 years as the archetype of Médoc dry white wine: pale colour, between delicate freshness and aromatic distinction (lemon, bitter orange, honeysuckle), never too full or demonstrative. A model of elegance, never too lavish or ostentatious, and always reasonably priced.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (N. Martin - April 2024): 88/100 "The 2023 Caillou Blanc Talbot was picked from August 30 to September 7 and matured in 40% new oak, with more bâtonnage than usual. It has a oretty bouquet with orchard fruit, touches of orange blossom and grapefruit thanks to the 71% Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is fresh on the entry: green apple mixed with pear and a dab of lemongrass, with decent length. This is very Graves-like this year. Drink it over the next four to five years."
The Latour-Martillac white wine is aromatic, straightforward and has excellent ageing potential. It is one of the most consistent and interesting wines in the appellation, and holds up formidably well to ageing (10 years or more).
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 90/100 “The 2023 Latour-Martillac Blanc is a tasty, straightforward offering. It possesses good energy and drive yet remains a bit angular in its contours. This needs a bit more presence in the mid-palate.”
J-M Quarin (March 2026): 88/100 "Pale colour. Discreet nose, developing aniseed aromas when swirled in the glass. Delicate and fragrant on the palate, with medium body."
Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 90/100 "The 2023 Latour-Martillac Blanc has an attractive bouquet, with hints of white flower, the tincture, the malic fruit. Good intensity. The palate is fresh and vibrant. Ample weight with a dash of pepper, not persistent and yet it should still drink well for several years."

The 2021 vintage in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2025) : 93/100 Coup de ♥ “Latour-Martillac blanc 2021 shows an otherwise more nuanced and profound character. Distinguished, with no vinification or ageing signature, it unfurls a very fine shape on the palate, with acidity that is never sharp, enveloped by the elegant flesh of the estate's Semillon grapes (43% of the blend). The restrained elegance of the finish is to be commended. It will age very well.”.
Vinous (A. Galloni - December 2023): 91/100 “Latour-Martillac Blanc 2021 offers an intriguing blend of Sauvignon Blanc-driven liveliness and Semillon-influenced mid-palate creaminess. Dried pear, chamomile, mint, citrus peel and white flowers develop nicely as this charming effusive dry white opens a little to the air.”

Very pale, crystalline colour, aromatic notes of lemon and grapefruit, lively and delicate on the palate, Carbonnieux is by its refined style the most Medoc style of Pessac-Léognan whites.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 92/100 "The 2023 white is perfectly in keeping with the style of this cuvée, which is emblematic not only of the estate but also of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. A harmoniously balanced wine, mature and suitable for ageing, in which the texture and richness of the Sémillon perfectly complement the fruitiness of the Sauvignon, which does not impose a garish varietal character here."

The 2021 vintage in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2024 ): 89/100 "The 2021 Carbonnieux white currently shows a slight reduction, with a herbaceous note (dill) also evident among the white flowers evoked by the nose. The texture is light but fine and lively, benefiting from the freshness of the vintage."
Alongside its famous Sauternes, Suduiraut has been producing a dry white wine for fine dining for 20 years, made from half Sémillon and half Sauvignon (average age of vines 45 years for both grape varieties), aged for 9 months in barrels (12% new). Renamed Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes from 2020 onwards, this cuvée achieves a near-perfect balance between refined fruit (fresh citrus), marked acidity and subtle bitterness on the finish.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 91/100 "The 2023 Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Blanc Sec has a clean and fresh bouquet, touches of cooking apple, pear and apple blossom. Fine delineation. The palate is well-balanced with an oily texture, lightly spiced and a little Roussanne-like toward the very textural finish, with a touch of lanolin on the aftertaste."
Vinous (A. Galloni - March 2026): 95/100 "The 2023 Grand Vin Blanc Sec Vieilles Vignes is bright, tense and wonderfully focused. Citrus peel, chalk, mint, white pepper, and chamomile bristle with tension. All the elements are so well balanced. There's a feeling of transparency in the 2023 that I find incredibly alluring."
Like its Sauternes Grand Cru Classé neighbors, Climens has been developing a range of dry white wines since 2018, all 100% Semillon. The range begins with Petite Lily, aged 8 months in stainless concrete tanks, an irresistible delicacy endowed with a lovely fatness.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
J-M Quarin (March 2026): 92/100 “Intense, fruity nose with lovely pear aromas. Meticulous texture on the palate, developing good presence, with lots of flavor and a hint of orange in the finish.”
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026) : 91/100 "Petite Lily is an impulsive, engaging cuvée, ripe but playful, deliciously floral and apricot-flavoured."
Vinous (N. Martin - April 2025): 90/100 "It has an attractive nose, with well-defined beeswax, light chalk and lime aromas that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is balanced, with a touch of almond and white peach on the entry. A keen line of acidity, plenty of energy and "bite" on the finish make this a very delicious dry white Sémillon that should age well in bottle."
Like its Sauternes Grand Cru Classé neighbors, Climens has been developing a range of dry white wines since 2018, all 100% Semillon. Asphodèle (wild lily) is their main cuvée, aged 9 months in concrete tank, dynamic and expressive (floral and buttery notes), “Asphodèle can establish itself in great vintages as one of the best whites in the whole Bordeaux region” as written by M. Bettane.
The 2019 vintage in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2024): 93/100 “Pure Semillon, Asphodèle 2019, is undeniably one of the most original and interesting propositions among the new wave of dry white wines produced in the Sauternes area. It develops with great charm notes of fresh hazelnut, as well as a florality suggesting up to violet, over the course of a lively body.”
Vinous (N. Martin - February 2023): 90/100 "The 2019 Asphodèle de Climens has a pretty green apple and Anjou pear nose, well-defined with good intensity. The palate is well-balanced with a crisp gooseberry and nettle entry, touches of white tea and quite a complex finish. Very fine if early drinking."
Bettane + Desseauve (Guide 2026) : 92/100
With near-maniacal intransigence at every stage of its development, the Bonnie family delights us with each vintage with its white wine, very Sauvignon (80 to 90%), combining energy, supreme finesse and exemplary straightness.
The 2023 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A. Galloni – March 2026): 94/100 “The 2023 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc sizzles with tension and energy. Lemon confit, mint, white pepper and a kiss of French oak build effortlessly in the glass. The 2023 offers exceptional quality and personality. This is an especially fine vintage.”
J-M Quarin (March 2026): 93/100 "Pale yellow colour. Intense, fruity and sweet nose, developing somewhat discreetly when swirled, but with ripe fruitiness. Meticulous on the palate, very fruity in the middle, with a rich woody background, the wine develops fragrant, pleasant and mellow flavours, unfolding slowly. A beautiful finish that is difficult to spit out."
Vinous (N. Martin - February 2026): 93/100 "The 2023 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc has one of the best aromatics among the white Pessac wines this year, with green apple, freshly sliced pear and subtle crushed stone aromas. The palate is well balanced with finely balanced, lovely weight and purity, with hints of rose water tincturing the lightly spiced, tropical-tinged fruit. Very nuanced, yet very delicious."
The great white wine of Ch. Valandraud, with a sparkling sap and balance. With only 4000 bottles produced, it is a nugget that will do wonders on the table in 5 years (to take advantage of its youthful brilliance) or in 15 years.
A blend of predominantly Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, topped up with Semillon.
The 2019 vintage in the press:
Vinous (N. Martin - January 2023): 91+/100 “The 2019 Valandraud Blanc has quite a generous nose, creamy new oak combining nicely with the slightly nutty yellow fruit. The palate is well-balanced with a powerful entry, rounded, quite spicy with just a touch of heat on the finish that just gives it a kick. Very fine, but I encountered superior bottles in the past".
J-M. Quarin (April 2020): 93/100 “Delicate from the moment it enters the mouth and immediately melts, with a beautiful touch and body, the wine stretches out spicy, before bouncing back on the finish, very tasty, beautiful and unapproachable.
Bravo!”
In white, Domaine de Chevalier produces a model unique among its peers, made of tension, vivacity and energy. Its mineral side and its capacity to age (30 years and more) bring it closer to the greatest Burgundy whites.
The 2021 vintage in the press:
La Revue du Vin de France (Guide 2026): 95/100 "It imposes a powerful and original personality from the nose, with lots of nuance and a distinguished reductive touch. Fresh mint enlivens the fruit at the heart of a palate that is both full and invigorating, rich yet dynamic, with perfect balance. Already clearly distinguished, this wine cultivates an original style without being exuberant or fanciful."
Vinous (A.Galloni-December 2023): 96/100 “The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is a dense, powerful dry white. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2021 is going to need quite a bit of time to be at its best. Today, the wine's textural intensity and some oak are front and center. The 2021 is a Blanc of substance and real character. I can't wait to see how it ages.”
Vinous (N.Martin-November 2023): 95/100 “The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was one of the best wines that I tasted, white or red, during en primeur. Now in bottle, it has a captivating bouquet of mineral-rich citrus fruit that represents one of the most complex I have encountered in any vintage. The palate is well-balanced with a beautiful line of acidity and a slightly resinous texture, very complex and intense on the finish that lingers in the mouth. What a fabulous dry white Bordeaux this will become.”

The 2018 vintage in the press:
Vinous (A.Galloni - March 2021): 95/100 “The 2018 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has com together beautifully over the last two years. Rich and unctuous in feel, the 2018 offers terrific nuance to match its creamy, enveloping personality. Dried pear, marzipan, lemon confit and white flowers all build as the 2018 blossoms in the glass. The poised, deeply resonant finish is striking. I am so impressed with the 2018, a wine that is far more convincing in bottle than it was from barrel. ”
J-M Quarin (October 2020): 95/100 “Ample from the attack, juicy in the mid-palate and above all very tasty, the wine develops on a fat touch. The finish is complex, long and sappy. It's superb.”
